On this trip, we will wind our way through North Texas horse country on a chartered bus and visit two premier ranches to get a behind-the-scenes look at the equine industry. For lunch, we’ll enjoy an old-fashioned bandwagon feast at Oak Meadow Ranch, complete with an exotic wildlife meet and greet and a cowboy mounted shooting demonstration.

Cardinal Reining Horses is one of the largest reining ranches in North Texas Horse Country. The ranch features the largest private covered arena in the world, a first class show barn, 200+ stalls, and a state-of-the-art breeding operation. The ranch is home to the best performers and producers in the performance horse industry. During the behind-thescenes tour, we will visit the arena where horses will be warming up for training, along with the breeding barn, stallion station, and mare and foal barns.

Fred Thomsson Reining Horses is a first class facility, boasting 62 stalls in two barns, a 125 by 275 foot indoor arena, carefully tended ground, and other amenities. The ranch is also home to the main veterinary clinic for North Texas Horse Country, the Trailmark Equine. This state-of-the-art facility includes a horse treadmill, along with cutting edge technology to diagnose and treat horses. During this behind-the-scenes tour, we will visit the veterinary clinic, tour the stallion and mare barns, meet champion horses, and witness a reining performance from the famous Fred Thomsson himself.

Oak Meadow Ranch resembles an Old West town filled with beautiful landscaping, exotic animals, indoor and outdoor dining areas, fire pits, picnic tables and genuine friendly hospitality. Our menu will include brisket, chicken, 2 sides, salad, bread, and dessert, all crafted by award-winning Chef Eduardo Navarro from the Whitehorse Steakhouse.
