Hello! My name is Olivia Small, and I am currently a student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison pursuing a Bachelors of Science in Interior Architecture and a certificate in Graphic Design. Growing up, I always had a passion for art and desired to incorporate that passion into a career that evokes creativity and design.

1Composition in Black and White

Design Fundamentals I

This project explored the relationships between line, value, and shape by creating a complex composition and conveying a sense of three-dimensional depth on a two-dimensional plane. It hones in on details of a chip clip to address a clear focal point, balance, and unity.

2Museum Model

Design Fundamentals II

The project utilized inspiration from architect, Daniel Libeskind to develop and create a three-dimensional model of a museum structure.

3Still Life Drawings

Visual Thinking - Form and Space

These still life drawings focused on characterizing the relationship between forms and adding in details and variations of value.

Interior Design I Victorian House Renovation

This project revolved around the renovation of the first floor of a historical Queen Anne Victorian House to meet accessible standards. Additionally, it involved the development of rental units to fulfill the client's desire to host and get to know local tourists.

The design concept considered how The Boho Abode could drive visitors in with its whimsical spirit while awakening their explorative nature to adventure outwards.

The project further involved the inclusion of furniture and fixture selections for each room along with the creation of accurate 3D renderings using Google SketchUp.

This project involved fashioning a unique chair design that took inspiration from a 1970s textile in the Helen Louis Allen Textile Collection at my university's School of Human Ecology.

Revit Introduction: The Modern House

The goal of this project was to research mid-century modern design elements in order to create a single-story home in the style using Revit.

Three-Dimensional Cont t Design Fundamentals II

The project was used to represent the three-dimensional contrasts of geometric to organic and tension to relaxation through the development of tiles, masks, and a pavilion.

Graphic Communication: Book Cover 8

Design Fundamentals I

The project focused on using the visual elements and compositional principles of design in order to create a new cover for an already existing book relating to the designer's field of interest.

Visual Thinking - Form and Space

This project was intended to serve as a way to demonstrate proficiency in the hand drafting of interior drawings of floor plans, sections, elevations, and a detail.
