Five years of undergraduate study trained me with academic strength and potential to be good in architectural fields but ever since the beginning, in addition to work hard, I’ve been holding the belief of there's no boundary for creativity. Therefore, I've been testing the limit of design every now and then.
The following several work experiences of different pathways within the creative industry were great opportunities to dive deeper into my mind and broaden my horizons whilst col aborating with great people on spectacular projects. Consequently, my mindset changed while undertaking my further degrees and jobs, getting good grades became same old vital but basic. When talking about design and creativity, grades are not always the most convincing facts of satisfaction, I prefer to not “behave” and crave more. Thus, I fed my desire by directing a film inspired by a bad dream I had, making an XR game for the queer subculture that I felt belonged, coding for my spirit animal, producing animation about alien invasion and turning my dissertation into a screenplay...
Now I'm ready for breaking new boundaries within this multifaceted opportunity, facing unexpected encounters and bringing out new sparks along the journey.
Here are some selected design and research projects from 2015 to 2022. CONTENT

THE SOUND OF ICELAND
AN IMMERSIVE MUSIC HOTEL DESIGN
Architectural Design
Location: Lake Mývatn, Iceland
An academic individual work Design date: April-July, 2017 Supervisor: Yun Qian E-mail: qianyun@bjfu.edu.cn
Iceland, a sparsely populated small Nordic island with a rich regional natural landscape and culture, has always been one of the ideal destinations for travel enthusiasts. Iceland is often depicted as the last pure land on earth, whether by locals or tourists. As a result, the trip to Iceland seems to have some kind of spiritual meaning. This experience has something in common with the appreciation of music.
As a music lover, my first impression of iceland comes from its unique misic.Iceland music as a characteristic culture in Iceland, is also popular with people around the world. In this project, I tried to incorporate Icelandic music culture and local materials into the design of a resort hotel and reinterpret the regional architecture through material, space, vision and hearing. The project is located along the east coast of Lake Mývatn, a shallow lake in northern Iceland, surrounded by unparalleled landforms caused by volcanic eruptions 2300 years ago. In addition to the lake itself, there are craters, magma sources, lava columns, geothermal areas, natural hot springs and other landscapes. Being here is like being in another world...

Value of Iceland Music
Obviously, music is an important part of Iceland culture, which also makes Iceland have some unique spiritual value.
There are many different types of music & musician in Iceland.
Local music festivals have the tradition to use hotels as performance venues. Two third people‘s first impression of Iceland comes from music.
Many people regard Iceland as the last piece of pure land on earth.
There‘s a certain similarity in people's psychological responses to changes in architectural space and musical melody.
Concept Summary
As a result, the design of the resort blends Iceland music culture and other local features to form a new shape of local architecture.

THE LOOP OF MOTHE CHANDENIERS
A HERITAGE PROTECTION AND VISITOR CENTER DESIGN
Architectural and Environmental Design
Location: La Mothe Chandeniers, 86120 Les Trois-Moutiers, France
An academic individual work Design date: February-May, 2018 Supervisor: Changming Yu E-mail: yuchangming@bjfu.edu.cn
There is a special fascination in ruins. There is a sublime hint in dissolved architectures. There is something moving in the pulverizing of time. Silence takes over the architecture. In the long sunset that follows abandonment and preludes destruction, nature completes the design of mankind by taking space back according to its own pace. In that moment, something magical happens. In that moment, architecture gives way to ruins. The castle of Mothe Chandeniers is a perfect ruin.
The origins of Mothe Chandeniers have been lost in the pages of a history that we don’t know. However it was renovated during the Romantic age. It is the architectural embodiment of romanticism. At that time, the castle was the Marquis Francois de Rochechouart-Chandeniers’ house. After the marquis’death, the castle was abandoned for 2 centuries. In those years, numerous families owned it until it passed into the hands of Francois Fidèle Hennecart a wealthy textile tradesman who purchased the castle in 1809. His family renovated it again but on the night of 13th March 1932, a violent fire destroyed most of the building.
Currently Mothe Chandeniers is much more romantic than before its renovation. The ruins that fusion with nature seem to be the perfect materialization of the sublime. So the visitor center design is based on the concept to keep it as a whole outdoor exhibit. Under that condition, a loop shape overlying building is designed around the castle by combining the terrain, waterway and visitors' needs. While protecting the castle, this loop provides a diverse experienc form equiet to dynamic, shallow to deep.Meanwhile, inside of castle is retained and people can appreciate the charm of the relics from all angles and distances through a series of landscape intervention measures of different heights.

ENCOUNTER IN THE HUTONG
HISTORICAL AREA SUSTAINABLE RENOVATION DESIGN BASED ON "SYMBOSIS COURTYARD" PROJECT
Urban Design
Location: Nanlouguxiang, Beijing, China
An academic group work Design date: April-July, 2019
My Work: Field research, site analysis, design concept and strategies, all the modeling and drawings in this portfolio Supervisor: Tong Xu E-mail: xutong@bjfu.edu.cn
In the context of the rapid development of China's economy, many historical districts cannot escape the fate of commercialization. Nanluoguxiang is a typical example. The rush to economic and tourism development has inevitably brought conflicts between locals and tourists.
For traditional historical districts like Nanluoguxiang, the streets often carry the role of not only transportation but also public spaces, like squares in the western world. Today, this unique lifestyle is gradually disappearing with the intensification of commercialization. After years of different renovation strategies, a mixed experimental courtyard strategy has appeared in Nanluogux i ang and it is named "Symbiosis Courtyard" project. What is "Symbiosis Courtyard" project? It is the symbiosis of private space and public space, thus forming a symbiosis state in which commerce and residence can coexist, tourists and residents can coexist.
In this design work, we tried to rebuild the traditional way that uses streets as a carrier of public spaces by combining the currently popular "symbiosis courtyard" project. At the same time, we hope this brand new continuous improving road system has the ability to diversify and weaken the conflicts and build a loop for residents and tourists, through the introduction of different functional spaces, hopefully achieve harmonious coexistence someday in the future.

LOOP THE LOK MA CHOU LOOP
An Integrated Border Design Based on Site Historical Gaps and Sea Level Rise Crisis
Architectural and Urban Design
Location: Lok Ma Chou Loop, Hongkong and Futian District, Shenzhen, China
An academic individual work Design date: July-September, 2019 Supervisor: LU Fan E-mail: littlojimmy@outlook.com
In June 2019, political riots broke out in Hong Kong. Even today, Hong Kong is still in great chaos. As an ordinary citizen, I don’t think I have the right to criticize without understanding the real political background. But as a designer, I feel like I can express my concern for Hong Kong and the hope for its prosperity in my own way. This project was born in this condition.
Shenzhen and Hong Kong were once known as "Xin An County" for centuries are now naturally devided by Shenzhen River. Ever since the Opium War in 1841, The land has changed dramatically. Resulting in significant gaps in culture, nature, economy and resources utilization.
After the Handover, the Pearl River Delta region is becoming more and more integrated and coordinated. A more friendly border is needed. At the same time, the crisis of sea level rise is gradually threatening the land. The environment of the two sides is facing a variety of different challenges.
This project aims at using the concept of loop by integrating cross-river resources and developmental patterns in combination with its historical and cultural factors to stimulate the resilience, integration and development of site from surface to inside. Eventually establish an invisible loop in the hearts of the people on both sides, thereby eliminating the gaps between the mainland and Hong Kong.

URBAN AND LANDSCAPE SUSTAINABLE DESIGN TOOLKIT OF THE LOOP SYSTEM
Relocate warehouse and cultivate wetland mound landscape.
Relocate original buildings due to the change of urban land use function. cultivate wetland mound landscape instead.
introverted new residential community, whose central landscape has water storage and purification function.
Remade waterfront pond so that it has the function of water purification.
Domestic wastewater gradually precipitates and forms tortuous waterways.
Considering the influence of sea level rise, surround lmc loop with annular green space.
Waterfront wetland landscape gradually form scale.
The circular landscape purifies the river and flows into the southern nature reserve.
The service life of lowrise residential buildings is reached.
As sea level rise intensifies, gradually reduce wharf freight. Because the economic loss caused by sea level rise is much greater than the economic benefit of one port.
When the function of the wharf is completely lost, establish wharf cultural park.
New culture and commercial buildings replace old buildings and connect them with loops.
Use vacant rooms of the urban village for cultural education.
Carry on organic renewal of culture orientation to urban village.
Fishing village cultural experience area: establish people's perception of historical context.
Combine high-rise office buildings and commercial squares to create a cultural loop.
Cultural and educational center: based on the needs of cultural exchange.
Cultural CBD and creative block: After the close exchange of culture and the exploration of new forms and new values is needed.
Assuming that cultural exchanges have matured at this time, Use physical loop to link cultural buildings on both sides.
Three different first sewage purification remade measures based on building types.
For residential buildings For high-rise buildings For urban village
The first sewage purification is carried out in the basement of the new buildings.
Due to the rise of sea level and the aggravation of river pollution, introduces the river water into the green space then the water flows into the nature reserve after being purified.
The first sewage purification of a new building treated by special facade pipes. which can deliver water to the waterfront wetland for the second purification.
Use mangrove slope to absorb river water pollution, meanwhile the increasing slope can prevent the crisis of sea level rise.
Establish water culture landscape in the center of river after water cycle is fullly developed.
Due to the rising demands for clean water, expand the area of clean water wetland.

Project type: An academic individual work Design date: 2019
I believe this is more than a design project, more likely to be an attempt based on sociological and cultural differences. There is a certain conflict between society and the LGBTQ community for sure. Especially when it comes to religion, the conflict reached its peak.
Most Christians today regard LGBTQ issue as a matter of principle, god's hatred of the LGBTQ community can be found in the interpretation of the Bible, suggesting that it is unforgivable and they must go to hell after their death. But is the truth really as interpreted? If all things are equal, why does God hate LGBTQ so much?
I believe if god really exist, everyone has the right to have faith. As a designer, I keep wondering using a way to remove religious prejudice and treat everyone with kindness.
The project starts from the historical analysis of the connection between Christianity and LGBTQ community from ancient Greek to modern times. It is not difficult to find that the original intention of Christianity is to awaken people's goodness. After religion gradually intervened in the regime, people's thought of interests began to misread the doctrine in the name of God. Sexual minorities hid in the shadows since then. After World War II, under the background of sexual liberation movement, the LGBTQ Community gradually came out of the closets to fight for equal rights. A lot of parades held in the name of love.
God or Love? which side would you pick...
I create a two parallel Church spaces by means of an interesting and ironic approach. the church is surrounded by water. above-ground space for Christians and the underground space for the LGBTQ community.
The above-ground church is a god processing factory under the shell of the traditional church. The appearance and plane layout extract the form of the Greek cross church, but the interior of the building takes the form of spiral space to imply the class phenomenon in Christianity. In the center of the building is a huge idol. The light fell from the dome and hit the idol. The story of God's seven days of creation in Genesis is translated into seven floors of different architectural spaces. According to different levels, each floor undertakes different functions of processing idol. People here lack sense of security and do not want to believe and accept behavior that is different from their own. They paralyzed themselves through a mechanized lifestyle and gradually added barriers to themselves. The processed idol also changes over time and gradually loses its original appearance. This series of ironic architectural spaces suggest that the closure of people's thoughts artificially influences the religious nature and the doctrine.

An Exhibition and Intreaction Art Installation Design in A Traditional Courtyard
Exhibition and Installation Design Location: Baitasi, Beijing, China An academic individual work Design date: August-September, 2019
This is an exhibition design project of 2019 Beijing Design Week.
The project is located in a traditional courtyard house. The content of the exhibition highlights the historical value and current contradiction of the ancient blocks, hoping to solve the contradiction by integrating symbiotic measures and break down barriers to reshape the vitality.
As the curator, I wonder if it is possible to combine the value of the exhibition with the form of the exhibition in a certain way. walls are common material for an exhibition, but meanwhile walls can bring barriers. What if there are no walls? What if we can break down barriers as the exhibition theme trying to convey?
31-
According to the exhibition content and venue requirements, the exhibition is divided into four parts
Traditional exhibition spaces often separate different exhibition spaces by building walls.
Traditional exhibition spaces usually connect different exhibition spaces through doors to form an orderly exhibition path.
In combination with the exhibition content of ancient city symbiosis, I hope that my exhibition space can hint at the connotation of the exhibition in three-dimensional space, so that visitors can better understand the exhibition content, This interesting space is hoped that people are not limited to the same exhibition path. As a result, I replaced the wall and door with a complete fold line.

Color is a visual effect on light produced by the eyes, brain and our life experience.
Human perception of color is not only determined by the physical properties of light, but also contains many factors such as psychology. For example, human perception of color is often affected by surrounding colors. Because of different color vision, different creatures see different worlds of appearance.
So how does the machine see the color and recognize it?
This project was inspired by the common "Eyedrop Tool" in softwares such Photoshop. After many experiments, the Eyedrop Tool in the physical world was born.

Interaction Space & Stage Design
Location: Modern Art Museum, Shanghai, China
An work project associated with Haolun Zhang Design date: March-September, 2020
This is an Interaction space and stage design for NYLON 3rd anniversary. The main audience of the anniversary is young people aged 20-30. So I defined the theme of this event as a tribute and carnival to the Millennials and the culture of Generation Z.
Through the form of performance stage + immersive exhibition + interactive games, I hope to create a young, interesting and rich experience for the audience.
The performance stage is composed of exhibition spaces and live performances. For immersive exhibition I created four photograph spaces for NYLON through creative forms. In the interactive game part, I created seven interactive scenes as an escapethemed game using a combination of NPC and mechanical interactive devices.
The event attracted a total of 3000+ public viewing the exhibition and participating in games in ten days.

THE IMPOSSIBLE ENCOUNTER
An Interaction Space & Stage Design Based on Chinese Tea Culture and Renaissance Art
Interaction Space & Stage Design
Location: Today Art Museum, Beijing, China
An work project associated with Haolun Zhang Design date: September-October, 2020
This is an exhibition based on Chinese tea culture and Renaissance art. The initiator of the exhibition hopes to bring Western Renaissance art to people through this exhibition as well as express its relationship with Chinese tea culture. These two seemingly unrelated are presented through several dramatic interactive spaces such as Into The Painting, The Tea Garden Maze, Doors of The World & Hometown, and Out Of The Painting.
In this exhibition space, the boundary between time and space is dispelled, and Chinese tea culture and Western top painting art meet here across time, space, country and field. The viewer can feel the artistic collision of the top western famous paintings with the Chinese tea culture, and then rethink the relationship between them.
-38-
THE INSPIRACTION
The acquaintance between the East and the West is far longer than people imagined.
Tea, like the fragrance of tea itself, is a continuous clue between East and West.
Once, Chinese tea appeared in the parlors of European aristocrats, people tasted tea in front of the paintings of the Renaissance.
In the early intercontinental logistics network, the most important traded product was tea.
It is precisely because of tea that the most precious products of the East and the West can circulate mutually: Chinese tea and Renaissance paintings
MASTER PLAN & ROUTE
Today, precious European works of art come to a Chinese special tea gardens for people to appreciate the beauty of Western art.

SCENE 3
SCENE 1
SCENE ONE: DOORS OF THE WORLD AND HOME
On the way to the art gallery, there is a long and narrow stone path with hundreds of thousands of old trees on both sides of the road. Doors of different styles are installed on both sides of the path. Some can pass through normally, and some are mirrored. The space intersects alone with the opening and closing of the door. Looking out is the world, walking back is the hometown, and the story happened at this time...
SCENE TWO: INTO THE PAINTING
Start with the picture frame and enter the exhibition I process the entrance in a dramatic way, so that a picture frame extends infinitely and becomes a road that can lead to the exhibition and an art door to be traversed. The outermost part of the frame is white in line with the gallery exhibition hall. As the color gradually deepens, the world behind us gradually recedes, and we arrive at the last golden classical frame and cross into the palace of the masters.
SCENE THREE: THE TEA GARDEN MAZE
I designed a tea garden maze based on the traditional Chinese tea garden form combined with contradictory space. The complex deformed geometric structure is full of strong mystery and imagination, so The viewer is unconsciously immersed in the infinite loop space. Stairs are interlaced with each other, and the picture frames are suspended in the air or stand on the ground, breaking the limitations of space. The boundary between time and space is dispelled. Chinese tea culture and the top western painting art meet here across time, space, and countries. In these dislocation spaces, viewers can feel the artistic collision of top Western famous paintings with Eastern tea, and then rethink the relationship between masters.
SCENE FOUR: TEA PARTY IN THE GARDEN
In the West, gatherings to discuss art are called "salons". In the East, gatherings to explore philosophy through tea are called "Yaji".
Combine the two forms through the afternoon tea room. The exhibition ends when the afternoon tea ends. Welcome back to the real world with good memories.

THE HOPE
An Interaction Art Installation Design For 12th SOLANA Light Festival
Interaction Art Installation Design
Location: Solana, Beijing, China
An individual work project Design date: September-November, 2020
As the unpleasant and ill-fated 2020 is finally coming to an end, people are looking forward to the coming of the New Year in all kinds of emotions.
At the end of 2020, I am honored to cooperate with SOLANA to design the main installation of the light festival for them.
My starting point is to use this interaction installation to illuminate the hope in people's hearts. The light of hope is like a deep sea flame, bursting out of the surrounding danger, and accompanies people to march towards the new year.
-40-
THE ORIGIN OF THE THEME
The starting point of the design is to bring hope and happiness to people through the interaction installation.
Crawling Weibo text data to get the four most discussed positive words in 2020, which are HOPE, LOVE, PEACE and JOY.
Before the design, in order to make the design content not so subjective, I conducted an online questionnaire survey on the design style, allowing people to choose the time period they most want to travel to. Among them, the 80s when person swings and roller skating with the disco in the dance hall have become the era that people most want to travel to.
As the main skin decoration, the wind panel can produce disco ball's effect with the wind and reduce the load-bearing pressure of the truss frame.
The plasticity and weight of optical fiber outdoors in winter are better than neon lights.
The lower part of the site is a fountain, which is cheaper to transform into an ice arena.

“I MADE AN XR GAME FOR A QUEER SUBCULTURE. ” An Extended Reality Immersive Experience Design Inspired by Ballroom Culture and Voguing OVAH PLEASE CLICK URL TO WATCH THE EXHIBITION FILM https://youtu.be/j5yo6kfUSo4 -42All modeled and drawn by Teng Xue
The realization of identity is a steady and slow process, the relationship between constraint and liberation is relative. Inspired by ballroom, the underground queer subculture, as well as the reinterpretation of the sequence and construction of vogue’s five elements, Ovah is an extended reality system in the form of a costumed physical exoskeleton and a virtual experience which explores the correlation between liberation and constraint.
Ovah, which comes from ballroom terminology, is a variation of "over" or "over the top, " usually used to describe excellence in a ball. It also represents the ability to pass as a certain gender or sexuality in everyday society.
Ovah is a system but also a dramatic play; a play in which participants are both audiences and performers; a play in which the participants can unconsciously and simultaneously feel the transition and correlation between physical constraints and virtual liberation; a play in which virtual reality no longer serves in the way to encourage/require the participation of physical body movements; a play in which discusses the potential ways of developing empathy even new kinship via VR technologies to transcend our understanding of identity and queerness.

INSPIRATIONS AND EXOSKETELON DESIGN ITERATION
This project is inspired by ballroom culture and voguing, For modern ballroom in general, it is a venue that begin with and soon became popular among black and Latinx queer people originally. Till nowadays, it has been evolving into a place that welcomes everyone.
INSPIRATIONS AND EXOSKETELON DESIGN ITERATION
Combining four installations into one deformable installation. This installation will turn into the shape of Duckwalk, Catwalk, Floor Performance and Spin & Dip in sequence. Costumes are an important part of the ballroom culture. The physical device used for restraint is set up as a 'costume' rather than a ‘furniture’. The participants wear the installation as if they were wearing a costume to join a ballroom.

Flex sensors can measure the amount of deflection or bending. Usually, the sensor is stuck to the surface, and resistance of sensor element is varied by bending the surface.
Hands are one of the most important elements in ballroom culture which is used throughout the dance movement.
The use of hands in here has been reinterpreted as a medium of physical constraints and virtual liberation.

REINTERPRETATION OF BALLROOM VIA VIRTUAL INTERACTION
When the participant puts on the headset, the first screen that appears is the scene created in Ovah 1.0. This will be used as a preparatory scene with a tutorial to help participants get used to the gloves controller.
INTERACTION PROCESS AND LOGIC IN GAME
At first, Avatar is placed in a narrow gap, which gradually widens with the movement of his hand and finally opens up completely, allowing Avatar to reach the outside world. I wanted to express “breaking the chains”. The narrow black and white gap represents the confines of the physical world, while the coloured space outside is the freedom of the virtual world.
The Avatar walks on a runway surrounded by an audience of hands. Participants can use glove controllers to control the avtar's walk and the applause of the “hand” audience.
The “audience” made up by hands means the the recognition and compliment in the ballroom. The participants can go to next act through the portal.

The avatar gradually surrounded by flesh. These bodies are breathing, floating and can be controlled by the participants. Those bodies fills the whole space gradually. We wanted to convey a carnal, sensual feeling through this scene.
Plants are growing out of a parched field. The participants can rotate the whole space to kill all the life, but afterwards the life will still grow again. The rotation of the entire landscape mimics the movement of the “Dip”. The growth and demise of plants is an allusion to the lives of the minority.
At the end of the journey, the participants return to the original scenario. Just as everyone who leaves the ballroom eventually returns to everyday life, only this time with a different state of mind

NOCTURNAL ANIMALS - PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Evolving Process of Nocturnal Animals
Design Concept of Nocturnal Animals
Inspiration for this project comes from the serpent - my spiritual animal and the relationship between predator and prey. My idea is to create a psychedelic, wild, and wicked scene that can interact with. The very first scenes and words that came into my head were serpents, jungle, midnight, and a voyeur predator gaze from the darkness of the forest I used P5.JS to code these elements together.
I first created a continuous animation to imitate the shape of many serpents entwining each other, gradually their bodies into a jungle shape in the dark.
The second is to use machine learning to track the experiencer’s eyes in the webcam so that the 2D predator eye on screen would be able to move and change shapes and colours according to the position of the experiencer’s eyes.

The residents of Neverland wake up from their dreams with the sunset, ready to start their wonderful day. this is the place that many people have been looking for their entire life. Legend has it that people who have arrived in Neverland will never grow old, and the crying face at the entrance of the town will suck away the sorrow and pain of every visitor. Whenever the sun rises on a new day, everything here will fall asleep again...
But everything has two sides, isn’t it? Neverland is no exception. This happy paradise also has its secrets, a secret that has been hidden for a long time-this small town is actually a trap created by a higher alien civilization. It is also the medium for them to study local civilization (especially human civilization). Every other extraterrestrial week, they will come and charge the town with a special extraterrestrial ritual to ensure the normal operation of the town. At the same time, visitors will be randomly selected to suck them into the spacecraft for biological experiment research.
This time, a man driving a red car unfortunately became a victim...Many people witnessed the kidnapping, but no one wanted to leave Neverland, so the secret has not been discovered yet...
