NSSLHA -

National Student Speech Hearing Language Association NSSLHA is a student led organization for those undergraduate and graduate students studying communication sciences and disorders.

NSSLHA is recognized by the American Speech Language Association (ASHA)

Ole Miss NSSLHA Chapter -

Our chapter strives for the students involvement in the community, the Ole Miss campus, and within our organization.

Ole Miss NSSLHA has service projects each year. The past years have included projects such as: -

Food Drive for the UM Food Pantry Hosted a Fall Party for Hill Students Honey Baked Ham Fundraiser Operation Christmas Child Comp Baskets for Graduate Students Sensory Santa Autism Awareness Walk

Olivia Joy Wright - President I love being a NSSLHA OfďŹ cer because I get to give back to an organization that does so much for the Ole Miss and Oxford community! I love that I not only am able to volunteer for events I am passionate about but also am able to help organize them and ďŹ nd ways to connect our members to the community.

One thing I love about NSSLHA is the unique service projects we host, from organizing a Sensory Sensitive Santa event each year to collecting donations and sponsoring fundraisers for local organizations. Every event helps a different group of people and involves the community in a different way!

Julia Pitts-Vice President Hometown: Hernando , MS Leadership in NSSLHA is important to be because I want to be involved in organizations that will increase my knowledge of our ďŹ eld of study, and I want to help other students who desire this as well.

I have also enjoyed the opportunity to form relationships with my advisors, professors and fellow students through being a NSSLHA ofďŹ cer!

One thing I love about NSSLHA is how we has an organization are able to give back to the community through our service projects!

Amaya Davis- Secretary Hometown: Texas Being a leader in NSSLHA is important for me because I get the opportunity to be involved within my major and seek more opportunities within it.

The one thing I love about the work that NSSLHA does is how involved they (we) are within the community and the volunteer opportunities that we get the opportunity to participate and be involved in.

Tyler Weaver- Treasurer Hometown: Oxford, MS Being a NSSLHA ofďŹ cer is important to be because I want out NSSLHA chapter to grow and reach out and touch the lives of not only the members in it, but also the members of our community that we offer services to. I want people to know what NSSLHA is, what we stand for, and for it to be recognized by the awesome members we have.

One thing I love about the work NSSLHA does is that we do work that beneďŹ ts our undergrad and graduate students, but we also do so many things that reach out into the community and lend a helping hand to those who help support us so much.

Rachel Davis- Public Relations Hometown: Jackson, TN Being involved in NSSLHA is important to me because it allows me to further my knowledge in the ďŹ eld of CSD as well as make connections and seek advice from current professionals.

I love the community involvement that NSSLHA offers. It’s such an awesome way to reach out and be involved in hands on activities that help impact others!

Madeline Simpson- Historian Hometown: Houston, Texas My involvement as an officer in NSSLHA is important to me because it provides me with more resources within the CSD community. More particularly, as an officer, I feel as though I have the platform to share NSSLHA’s opportunities with people outside of the CSD community that want to get involved. I love that NSSLHA is always eager to help smaller organizations, families in need, and communities that are struggling. It is truly so inspiring to represent an organization that is always searching for new ways to help those in need.
