All provincial sales outlets carrying regulated Domestic Class Lawn and Garden Pesticides must employ a certi ed Lawn and Garden Pesticide Dispenser to ensure that consumers have access to correct information regarding pest control, pesticide regulations and safety requirements. Certi cation requires completing an exam within one year of registration, and is valid for ve years. There are two ways to get your certi cation:

From the initial meat selection to the nal click of the smokehouse door, you’ll dive deep into the science of sausage production. Learn the fundamentals of meatblock selection, grinding and stuf ng techniques and the art of mixing spices for bold, balanced avour.
You will be making 3-5 sausage recipes. Two of the batches will be cooked and served for lunch, the others are yours to take home.

ON-CAMPUS | ONE WEEK SAFETY TRAINING + 25 - 75 HOURS OF TRAINING
Olds College offers specialized training for novice operators across key equipment: skid steer, dozer, loader, rubber tired backhoe, grader and excavator. Each course runs for two to four weeks with up to 75 hours of hands-on equipment time. Training includes First Aid, CPR, H2S Alive and more, focusing on safety regulations, preventative maintenance and basic operational techniques. Courses aim to equip operators with necessary skills and industrystandard competencies. For more details and customization options, please contact Olds College.

Apprenticeship & Industry Training (AIT) Entrance Exam
ONLINE | THREE MONTHS
The Pre-Apprenticeship Exam Training program consists of four individual courses to prepare participants of the trades industry for success in their continued employment, education and mandatory quali cations exams.
Courses are self-directed & interactive.
Students who wish to register to become an apprentice and learn on the job, without the prerequisite high school education, must write an entrance exam based on Math, Science, and English Skills.
Each trade requires a variety of different requirements (for example some require Math similar to 20-3, some recommend higher levels), but each of these courses has no prerequisites.
Air Brake Endorsement
ON-CAMPUS | 14.5 HOURS
If you’re looking to complete the requirements to achieve the Alberta Transportation “Q” Endorsement, then look no further. After successful completion of the practical exam, and the written exam which must be taken at the Registry, you will be eligible to apply for the “Q” endorsement through a Registry agent.

Small Engines

Learn theory and techniques to diagnose and repair small engines such as motorcycles, lawnmowers, garden tractors, snowmobiles and other small engines.
Explore two areas of focus:
• Small Engines - Tune Up & Regular Maintenance
For those with little to no experience with engines. This course will cover the theory and techniques to diagnose and then hands-on time in the lab on small engines such as lawnmowers, garden tractors, motorcycles and snowmobiles. You will come away with a better understanding of how to diagnose electrical, fuel and mechanical problems and get the engine tuned up.
• Small Engines - Overhaul Procedures
For those that have either completed the Tune and Regular maintenance course or someone that has a good deal of experience in regular maintenance of small engines and wants to learn how to overhaul an engine. This course will go into depth regarding the overhaul of engine systems, drive trains and electrical systems.

Introduction to Welding

Designed for beginners and for welders who would like more hands-on practice. This course will cover the theory, techniques and shop practice of oxyacetylene welding of mild steel brazing, ame cutting, arc welding and MIG welding.
Ages 14 & 15 must enroll along with a parent/adult. Age 16+ can enroll without a parent. This includes a student who will be turning 16 during the course dates.
Powder Coating

Trainees select a specialization and under the guidance of their trainer, work towards mastering all the skills within their training program.
