Plans have been unveiled for a Sainsbury’s Local at the Chief Trading Post estate in Oldland Common
Developers are piling in HUNDREDS of people have put in objections to plans for 300 more homes in Oldland Common. Many residents are also furious about a separate proposal for a Sainsbury’s Local on the new estate at the Chief Trading Post, on the site originally intended for a doctor’s surgery. The plan from Waddeton Park for the land behind Barry Road and High Street is one of several large housing schemes submitted to South Gloucestershire Council in recent weeks as developers try to seize on the Government’s willingness to reduce the Green Belt in the drive to build more homes.
New river bridge gets go-ahead
Richley Bloor Homes has formally put in itsAlfie proposal his dad for 950 homes on land it owns in what with it calls North Warmley while developer Lightwood hasNick said it intends to put in an application for 280 homes at Rock House Farm, Shortwood. Another big site earmarked for development is on the former Shortwood Lodge golf course, now dubbed Carsons Green. Meanwhile, developer Ashfield Land and Redrow Homes have won their appeal over plans for up to 140 homes in Hanham. Reports: Pages 2, 3 and 4
