Failsworth Leisure Centre – work is well under way in converting the excisting kicking fit facility to become a dual use space to include a designated Spin Studio and an upgraded young person’s gym provision with updated cardiovascular equipment for the school.

Oldham Leisure Centre Car Park - The long awaited installation of the new carpark barriers, at Oldham Leisure Centre, has now been signed off and all the equipment has been placed on order. Preliminary work will be taking place over the next couple of weeks to run new cabling between the barrier island and reception. This will cause minimal disruption, if any, to the existing parking but will facilitate a faster installation once the new system arrives.

● Financial performance to September 21 ● Income for the first half year is over budget and expenditure is underspent so the position to date is good! ● Membership and swim lessons continue to improve and are now around 90% of the prepandemic levels in the current month ● However the trading position for the year remains challenging and in comparison to 2019/20 income is £0.8m behind for the 6 months to September so we still have a long way to go ● We have now drawn down £172.5k of additional support from the £0.8m available from the Council this year ● Future pressures, aside from income, will be for utilities with rising prices, as well as national living wage increases due to next year ● Work continues on the contract extension beyond March 2023

Macmillan’s Coffee Morning is the biggest fundraising event to support people living with cancer

People all over the UK host their own Coffee Morning and donations raised on the day are made to Macmillan. On Friday 24th September, Saddleworth Pool & Leisure Centre hosted a coffee morning and raised £431.00 for the charity.
