We always make decisions for the long term based on quality and integrity and we are accountable for our impact on the environment, people and communities that orbit around us. That’s why we only produce what we sell, and everything is made in 1 hour territory from our home base.
Founded in 2016 by entrepreneur, musician, radio DJ and skateboarder Yari Copt, Old Captain Co. is a Lugano based manufacturer of premium Swiss Made dress shirts and apparel for active and creative people. Music, art, and sport have allowed Yari to wander the world and ultimately inspired him to create a brand that encompasses the influence of these passions.
Old Captain is a metaphor for taking your life into your own hands, being courageous, discovering, following your instincts, working hard, creating and not being afraid to fail. We want to inspire people to travel, learn and open their mind.
Old Captain Co. develops their shirts in a small factory in the south of Switzerland where expert hands take care of the production build on the foundation of Swiss Made: high-quality, luxury, exclusivity and tradition.
Our upside down anchor is a symbol of freedom - to not be anchored down to this world, to a place or to what your life is supposed to be. If you dare to be courageous, follow your instincts, explore, enjoy the small things, inspire and be inspired, then you will need no ship or no sea, to conquer the world. So go out there, become your own captain, wander the world and if you can, make it a little bit better.

We have a collection of collars from timeless cut away to sporty button down and stylish korean. Our range of shirt collars is designed to suit any style and face shape. Shirt pockets are essentially where fashion meets function.

Old Captain Buttons We produce our own exclusive buttons through a local producer in Lugano that has his own button factory (in Romania).
Polyester buttons can imitate almost any material – even completely natural ones, such as horn.
We create replicas of the best style and quality buttons in the world (perl and horn) without exploiting nature.
Our characteristic anchor logo stitched on our reinforced side gusset is made at Beca Ferretti just outside of Lugano.

Classic fit
There’s nothing sharper than a slim-fit shirt. Chest, waist and armhole are quite tight, putting in evidence the body silhoutte. Available in sizes s-xl.

Inspired by authentic western shirts with front and back yokes and two authentic Western flap pockets with snap closures. Snap logo snap buttons and top classic button.

The French Collar is one of the essentials of modern shirt design. The balanced shape makes for a versatile collar that match any face shape and can be worn either with or without a tie.
The Mini French Collar is our bolder alternative to French collar. The shorter cut suits with a range of ties, making it popular for any occasion and face shape.

From casual to well-dressed; the iconic Button Down Collar gets you ready for any style in a second.
A particularly casual button down collar with shorter collar points for a lower, more modern profile.
Korean
Hawaiian
This is a relaxed take on the classic mandarin collar, which features only a collar band without any actual collar points.
Originating in Hawaii this open collar is a classic for the summer to show off your hairs on the chest, or not. Ask Elvis Presley.

Western
The single pocket is traditional, functional and definitely make the look less dressy and more casual as well as increasing definition to the shape of your shirt.
The two chest pockets with button closure flaps are a really popular look that gives a classic and stylish western feel to the shirt.

How to care If you take proper care of your new favourite shirt, then it can last many years, even if nothing lasts for ever. Read our good advice to extend the lifespan of your shirts. This information covers cotton shirts. Other quality fabrics may require other treatments.
Before washing
Ironing
Undo all buttons, empty any pockets and remove the collar bones. Turn the shirt inside out. Read the shirt’s washing instruction label.
1. Place the collar flat. Iron the collar’s underside (the reverse side), from the collar edge to the middle, while also stretching the top seam.
After washing
2. Iron the upper side (the face side) in the same way.
It is preferable to let the shirt drip dry, without spin drying. Gently stretch the shirt’s seams and place on a hanger.
3. Iron the shoulder yoke; the inside first and then the outside. 4. Iron the cuffs; the inside first and then the outside.

5. Iron the arms in the same way. 6. Place the shirt flat with the front pieces together. Iron the side seams first, then the front pieces. 7. Turn the shirt inside out and iron the back of the shirt.
Storage Hang or fold the shirt after washing and ironing. It is best to store the shirt on a hanger with the collar button done up. If the shirt is to be stored folded, then do up all the buttons.
