Over the last 20 years at Gehry Partners, I have developed strong ethics in the process of design, project documentation and management. I strive to continually grow and motivate the teams around me, and to elevate our practice and work products. I have had the opportunity to work on a wide range of project typologies and scales in both the US and internationally, leading teams through all phases from concept to construction administration both as the lead project and design architect. Notable projects include serving as the project architect on Frank Gehry’s new personal residence completed in 2017 and the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi Museum which is currently under construction.
I view every project as a new challenge, and endeavor to find an inspiring approach, balancing both design response and technical development. I value a process of iteration and continual dialogue that can communally strengthen the ideas and design goals for every project.
I view project technical development equally rewarding, critical in preserving design intent and essential in leading to a well-executed project. I have learned the tactful art of design documentation, at each phase balancing project and design clarity with the appropriate levels of technical progression. In the wide range of projects that I have worked on, I have had the opportunity to enhance my proficiency in not only specialty façade systems but in a wide range of performance based design-build elements that often require special consideration in documentation delivery. Strategies such as early technical development, mock-ups, contractor design-assist and other approaches are often necessary to demystify project design complexity and achieve the design goals with an on-time and in-budget philosophy.
I have been a licensed architect in California for over 15 years, and professionally aspire to work on great projects with talented people.
