After a year on hiatus due to COVID restrictions, the OKCPHIL announces “The Christmas Show” featuring Broadway star Rachel York is back. The production created by Music Director Emeritus Joel Levine with Lyn Cramer directing and choreographing is sure to get you into a festive spirit. Shows are Dec. 3 at 8 p.m. and Dec. 4 at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. and include music ranging from upbeat and whimsical to moments of quiet reflection. In addition, the OK Pops Chorale and everyone’s favorite, the tap-dancing Santas are set to perform. Oklahoma City Ballet is set to stage its holiday performances of “The Nutcracker” at the Civic Center Music Hall, Dec. 11-19,for an eight show performance run. This beloved holiday classic choreographed by Artistic Director Robert Mills stays true to the original libretto that premiered in 1892 at the Marinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg. OKCPHIL will perform Tchaikovsky’s familiar score live at every performance, and new this year, Canterbury Voices provides vocals during the iconic snowflake scene. Single tickets start at $30 and are available now through Oklahoma City Ballet and Civic Center Box offices. Tickets may also be purchased by calling Oklahoma City Ballet (405)848-TOES (8637), online at okcballet.org, or by calling the Civic Center Box office at 405-297-2264. MAPS 4 subcommittee members are named Mayor David Holt and the Oklahoma City Council approved 54 appointments to serve on six MAPS 4 Citizens Advisory Board subcommittees. The volunteers are to help guide 16 projects included in the MAPS 4 program. “Nearly two years since the passage of MAPS 4, we now have all the pieces in place to

implement this ambitious and transformational initiative,” said Mayor David Holt. “With eight different oversight bodies and the implementation plan now in place, the next stop is the first groundbreaking. I want to thank everyone who has helped get us to this point, and special gratitude to these amazing community volunteers who have signed

up for this exciting endeavor.” The subcommittees are made up of people from diverse ethnicities and backgrounds. Of the appointments, 52 percent are women, 41 percent are people of color and 26 percent of all appointments are Black. Each subcommittee includes See MAPS 4, Page 5
