Village Shelter full, euthanization is next The Village Animal Shelter has just one kennel left before they have to start euthanizing dogs. Currently, seven dogs are in the shelter and three are in foster homes. A beautiful Husky may be going to a rescue organization. Adoption at The Village is $95. Village considers pedestrian bridge over Hefner Parkway By Eric Oesch Staff Writer As work continues on an extensive sidewalk project connecting all areas of The Village, the city envisions a pedestrian/bicycle bridge on Britton Road over the Lake Hefner Parkway connecting the city to the 27-Mile Oklahoma City Bert Cooper Trail System.
“We would like to include the bike trail (in the bridge project), but the cost might be prohibitive,” said City Manager Bruce Stone. “It could be five years before we start the project. “We currently have some bond money that hasn’t been used, but it would not come close to paying for See VILLAGE, Page 5
