It’s the Snow

@Big White Hailed as Canada's largest totally ski-in ski-out resort village. Guests can glide to their doorstep or stroll through the Village, shopping at one of the many retail locations or dine in the world-class restaurants and pubs. Big White provides everything you will need for a great vacation, all within walking or skiing distance to your accommodation.

Last season, the resort gave a recordbreaking five million rides up its lifts. It saw a total of 682 cm of snow, with the largest dump received in a 24-hour period, 28 cm, on February 22. The 215 instructors at the Big White Ski & Board School gave 62,000 lessons in 13 languages throughout the season. The Kids’ Centre had over 28,000 registrations in group lessons alone and there were 31,857 rides down the lanes at the Tube Park. Clocktower Coffee made 41,555 shots of espresso and sold 6,234 chocolate chip cookies. At Globe Cafe, 3,240 house-made marshmallows were toasted table-side and enjoyed by children and their parents last season. And, the Gunbarrel Grill fired up 2,569 of its famous Gunbarrel Coffees – 151 more than the previous season.

Chef Feature

Jeremy Keogh Jeremy’s introduction to food begun as a young teen when working alongside his mother at her restaurant, based in Warrnambool, Victoria, Australia. Jeremy joined the 6 Degrees Bistro team in 2013 and quickly progressed through the ranks in a matter of weeks. John Mooney, owner of Mooney Supply Group and industry expert, says “it is rare that you see talent like this, especially at such a young age. He has an exceptional understanding of flavour that many chef’s do not obtain during their career. Our customers really do appreciate the time and effort that goes into producing such exceptional food”. Jeremy is now the Executive Chef for Mooney Supply Group, including The BullWheel, 6 Degrees Bistro and Underground Pizza, all located at Big White Ski Resort. “The options we have available range from fine dining, casual family dinners/lunches and for nights you just need to sit on the couch and eat pizza”. 6 Degrees offers a truly unique fine dining experience with over 200 local Okanagan Wines. Jeremy and team have put a lot of effort into the whole experience at this outstanding restaurant; “Not only do we have exceptional food, we now have the new Riedel performance stemware - this is the loudspeaker for wine. It’s like listening to your favourite music in stereo”. The BullWheel caters for all palates creating something for everyone all day. Beano’s Coffee always provides the caffeinated start you need to start your day. And in case you didn’t know – there are three happy hours. For that essential protein snack Jeremy has created our staple special, duck wings, which are a great twist on a Canadian classic. Jeremy has now made Canada his full time base, “I love Big White Ski Resort and the Okanagan, it is one of the world’s best kept secrets. I am very proud to work in an area that excels in food and beverage”

Feel Safe

@Big White Big White is committed to the safety of everyone staying and playing at the resort. The responsibility codes are the basic rules of conduct and must be followed by all using the mountain. The information below is here to keep you and your loved ones safe while enjoying the slopes. Ski and ride with care and above all, have fun! Wear a Helmet Big White Ski Resort recommends that everyone educates themselves in the uses, advantages and limitations of helmets. Protect Your Skin and Eyes UV rays are reflected from the snow surface. Use sunscreen and wear sunglasses or goggles. Dress Appropriately Dress in layers. The base layer should wick moisture away from your body. Footwear Ski boots can be difficult to walk in and don’t offer good traction. Bring snow boots. Meeting Points When skiing in a group, make sure you have a designated meeting place if you become separated. The Buddy System Ski with a friend. If you ski or ride with a buddy, it's much safer and usually more fun! Call Ski Patrol or 911 In the event of an emergency on the mountain from 8am-9pm daily, contact the ski patrol at 250-491-6160. For all other emergencies, call 911. 14

Staying Over

@Big White A ski holiday is a magical way to bring families and friends together and create lasting memories. When planning your next trip, it’s essential to choose the right place to stay. Big White Ski Resort offers plenty of options with capacity for 17,000 guests in hotels, condominiums, private chalets and hostels. Looking for a quiet get-away with a private hot tub, prefer to be right in the heart of the action? Either way, there’s something for everyone, whether you’re a solo traveller or a large group. Often you’ll find a fireplace in the shared lobby or restaurant, but for real luxury, consider booking a place with a fireplace in the room or suite. It’s the perfect place to sit and sip drinks, read or talk the night away with friends.

Telus Park

@Big White It’s called BIG White for a reason! With 7,355 acres, of which 2,765 acres is rideable terrain, an annual average of 750cm (24.5’) of epic Okanagan Champagne Powder, 119 runs, five powder bowls and seemingly endless glades, there’s always fresh tracks to be found. The way the terrain wraps around the mountain makes Big White incredibly snowboard-friendly and fun for all skill levels! With natural jumps and crowd-free slopes, Big White is a mountain that freeriders become obsessed with. Big White’s roots in snowboarding go back 30 years. The same year that freestyle skiing debuted at the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary, one of the first snowboard playgrounds in Canada appeared at Big White. Today, Big White continues to deliver with one of the country’s best terrain parks. In 2016, TELUS Park was named ‘One of the Best Terrain Parks in North America’ in USA TODAY's 10 Best Awards. In 2018, Newschoolers named TELUS Park in the Top 5 Parks in the Northwest. The self-lifted park features a 700m chairlift, and is open for night riding Thursday to Saturday. TELUS Park features include a pipe, a variety of different sized jumps, an interesting flow of jib features and a public board and ski cross course. This past season, TELUS Park continued to invest in developing athletes by hosting 20 amateur sport events, including rail jams, boardercross and slopestyle. One of the largest events of the year is the Neil Edgeworth Memorial Banked Slalom, which, over two days, sees around 300 snowboarders compete. This is the best weekend to be a snowboarder at Big White! 36
