OKIB is in the process of building a new Cultural Immersion School at Komasket Park. Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) have approved $14 million toward building a new K4-7 elementary school for OKIB. The school will consist of: • classrooms • library • gymnasium • lunchroom and kitchen • administration/staff • health rooms • storage • circulation • design space. The first stage was the Feasibility Study which is now complete. We are now in the Schematic Design Phase. Preliminary schematic drawings are featured. Estimated date of completion is 2023. We have hired Iredale Architects from Vancouver. Iredale Architects have worked closely with ISC on many First Nations projects.
