FITNESS FACILITY SERVICES Access cards to fitness facilities are available for purchase at a cost of $10 from the Office of the Registrar (Student Services Building).

Okanagan College is committed to promoting health and wellness as a lifestyle choice for all eligible students. Our facility offers a wide range of cardio machines and strength training options. Memberships can be purchased online for $10. Cards are activated based on your enrollment and program dates and will be automatically reactivated for returning students. FITNESS FACILITY HOURS OF OPERATION Mon - Thu 6 a.m. - 8 p.m. Friday 6 a.m. - 6 p.m. Please note: we are closed on all Stat holidays. February Reading week hours will be Tuesday - Friday 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Please sign up at okanagan.bc.ca/kelownastudentlife WEIGHT ROOM ORIENTATION Learn how to use the fitness facility equipment safely and effectively under the guidance of our staff. Book your orientation online at okanagan.bc.ca/kelownastudentlife and a fitness specialist will contact you.

COMMUNITY GROUP FITNESS PARTNERS In partnership with Global Fitness, B Indoor Cycle & Strength Studio and Parkinson Recreation Centre, Okanagan College is happy to provide free group fitness classes or pool passes for students at these facilities. Please visit the Athletics, Recreation and Student Life office (S108) to find out how you can access these classes. NEW: This semester, join our January Spin Challenge at B Indoor Cycle & Strength Studio for a weekly and monthly prize! See January events for more details.

Outdoor Adventure Program Athletics, Recreation, and Student Life is excited to continue with the Outdoor Adventure Program. This program is intended to introduce students to fun recreational activities that are found in the Okanagan area. We will be giving away prizes on each excursion with a grand prize giveaway at the end of the semester! Look for the Outdoor Adventure Program logo attached to the events that qualify.

$12 FRIDAY NIGHTS Come skiing with us! The bus ride to and from Big White is FREE for Okanagan College students. You MUST sign up for the bus at okanagan.bc.ca/kelownastudentlife by the Thursday prior to departure date. Lift tickets, rentals and lessons are payable at the mountain. INTRAMURAL SPORT LEAGUES Join the fun!

BASKETBALL The OC Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams battle on in their second PACWEST Conference year so come out and support them. Visit okanagan.bc.ca/basketball for game schedules, rosters and information on how to become involved in the program. We will have a Pep Rally for the weekend home games on Friday, January 10 so join us 10:30 11:30 a.m. in the CFL Atrium to support your teams and attend the games that night to Make Some Noise for Mental Health! We will have swag and noise-makers as we raise awareness and remove the stigma of mental health issues.

The Okanagan College Coyotes Baseball Team is looking to build off a successful 2019 fall season. With a strong core of student athletes and a number of promising new recruits, the team will be looking to return to the CCBC Championship Tournament. Please come out and support your Okanagan College Baseball Team by attending a home game this spring. Game schedules will be available by visiting okanagancollegebaseball.ca.

JANUARY JANUARY SPIN CHALLENGE Visit B Indoor Cycle and Strength Studio (648 Cook Rd) during the month of January for a spin challenge. Each time you take a class, you’ll be entered to win a prize and we will have a grand prize draw at the end of the month. Visit our office (S108) with your student ID for your fitness sticker and attend these classes for free.

OC Coyotes Pep Rally and Games

Friday, Jan. 10 • 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. pep rally and games at 6 and 8 p.m. We’re holding a pep rally for the Coyotes with games, giveaways and snacks in the atrium of the Centre for Learning in the morning and cheering them on at their home games in the evening at Quigley Elementary where you’ll have the chance to win some great prizes.

CHINESE NEW YEAR This is the year of the Rat. Chinese New Year dates vary slightly between years because the festival is based on the Chinese Lunar Calendar. The lunar calendar is associated with the movement of the moon. Join us as we celebrate with food, music and cultural information.
