Become a master in the kitchen and learn how to chop, sear, flip and sautĂŠ.

This week will include fun and friendly team competitions that will test your cooking knowledge in international cuisine. Learn how to use herbs and spices from around the world and expand your creativity while preparing unique dishes. Grow your own micro-greens. Cooking will be balanced with daily outdoor games.

Canada needs 10 million skilled coders in the next 10 years according to the 2016 ICTC Digital Talent Strategy Report. Okanagan College has partnered with Community Futures North Okanagan on this two-week course. Students will explore future job opportunities, including coding, web design and mobile app development. Entrepreneurship workshops will then help you discover the potential for self-employment in this industry, as will the industry guest speakers who will share their stories and inspire you.

The Independent Chef

Cooking is an important life skill. In this camp you will learn how to create scrumptious meals for every part of the day. You will have the confidence to make your own breakfast, snacks and lunches for on the go, and even make dinner for the whole family. You will also grow your own micro-greens.

Game Programming using Minecraft

Let’s learn about one of the biggest, most creative video games ever made.

We will get into the nitty gritty of what makes a Minecraft world tick, modifying many aspects of the game through a series of hands-on Java programming tutorials. See our website for pre-camp requirements.

Passion for Fashion

If you love fashion and design, then join this camp! We will draw and sketch ideas, cut, glue, sew, hem, trim and bejewel clothing items, explore the history of different styles, discuss colour combinations, and maybe create a new trend!

Please bring clothing items that need a re-design or some flair added to them.

International Chef

Explore the unique flavours of the world! We will explore food culture from Mexico to Japan and everywhere in between. Each day we will travel to a different part of the world and create two authentic dishes of East Indian, Thai, Greek, Italian and French cuisine. You will also grow your own micro-greens.

Spend the week building woodworking projects in a fully equipped shop.

Develop essential craftsmanship skills while learning how to operate a wide variety of tools. Projects will vary and may include a tool box, beach chair and gravity car. Be challenged, be creative, but most importantly, have fun!

Metal Fabrication

Make your own amazing metal projects for around your house and yard! You will make, paint and keep sheet metal projects such as patio lanterns, lawn ornaments, and tool boxes. Students will learn the safe and basic fundamentals of working with metal to produce projects that they will be proud to show off.

This camp is about health and beauty inside and out. Learn about proper skincare routines, including how to create your own homemade beauty products. Learn about nutrition, exercise and yoga. We will practice natural makeup application and creative nail art techniques. Finish the week with a spa party, where you and your classmates will pamper yourselves in a “day at the spa.”
