J anuary 1, 2010 not only resulted in the launch of a new year but it also marked the beginning of a new decade. It seems such a short time ago we found ourselves caught up in the great question of 2000 as consumers stock-piled groceries, water, fuel, and numerous other items just in case “our system” failed with the turning of the century. Now we find ourselves ten years later – and may I quickly add – ten years closer to the coming of the Lord! Friends, this message must be addressed by the church. Over the coming days, our pulpits need a renewal of prophetic ministry. Multitudes are crying, “What is this world coming to – is there a doomsday ahead?”
Frank and Linda Cargill We must herald the news – J esus is coming! That message will result in changed lives and sanctified living. “ Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.” (Matt. 25:13)
2010 – YEAR OF TRANSITION The ministries of the Oklahoma District must effectively serve our ministers and ministries. The theme of “service” scripturally defines “ministry”. Regardless of position or title, the Call of God requires a life of servanthood! After months of prayer, report from a District Transformational Committee, and with the wisdom and guidance of those with whom I serve, I am excited to announce structural and personnel changes in District leadership that became effective January 1. The year of 2010 will be filled with transition for our Oklahoma Fellowship. Following the resignation of Linda StampsDissmore as District Women’s Director, your Executive Presbytery along with the support of our full District Presbytery authorized me to evaluate our leadership structure and submit a proposal regarding job descriptions as well as personnel for appointment. This request was in keeping with the action of the 2007 District Council in session. The following is a brief summary. These individuals, and their families, will serve alongside of Linda and me as well as Brother and Sister Goins as your Oklahoma Leadership Team in the coming days. Missions Ministries – Lindell and Phyllis Warren (including assignments with church revitalization and district affiliated churches) Children’s Ministries – Dean and Joy Guthrie (including age-related discipleship ministry and providing leadership for our present coordinators of Girl’s Ministries and Royal Rangers)
Youth Ministries – Doug and Jill Everaard (including age-related discipleship ministries for students, and networking for leaders) Church Ministries – Darren and Michelle Pilcher (including adult ministries with Darren serving as District Men’s Director and Michelle serving as District Women’s Director) Executive Administrator – Jack and Faye Salkil (including facilitating assignments from the Superintendent, PK ministries, property and grounds, plus construction coordinator) Every member of your Leadership Team is committed to serving this Fellowship. It is my belief that the best days for Oklahoma ministries are yet to come! Thank you, for your love and prayers as together we seek to be found faithful until He says, “Well done!” I encourage our Oklahoma churches and ministers to open your heart to these individuals and embrace their families. Build a relationship with them collectively as well as individually. I assure you, all of the team yearns to be relational and to link arms for the building of the Kingdom through Oklahoma ministries! Linda and I look forward to seeing many of you in the coming days. Every minister is encouraged to attend at least one of the Sectional Councils during February. Preferably, the section where you reside - or if that date conflicts, then plan to attend one that will fit with your personal schedule. Your servants and friends

January 2010
We are so excited about the new year of 2010. I believe this will be an outstanding year for all of us. While the world that surrounds us looks bleak and depressing, the Godly world around us is exciting and rewarding. God is going to do some wonderful things for us, just like he has promised. Won’t it be wonderful when you see those you have been praying for to be saved this year. Or maybe you have been praying for divine healing and it happens this year 2010. Are you ready for all this to happen? Didn’t God promise these blessings to all of us. Why don’t we start thanking Him for these answers today, then rejoice even more when it happens.

Traffic Report for 2010
With the new year now upon us, our calendars, be they electronic or hard copy, find their spaces filling up fast. Hopefully, some space is left for our itinerating missionaries. Many good causes compete for our time and money in the life of the church. It must be a spiritual priority to always leave room for our world harvesters to report back to our churches, and hear the burden of our new missionaries. Obviously, the following updates are not set in stone. There are too many variables. It does become clear however, that traffic picks up this year. So, please take note of the many departures and arrivals, and what must be accomplished in between.
Coming Home This Year Kirk & Karla Ford will be home for a mini-furlough (five months) beginning the middle of September. Bill & Barbara Kuert are scheduled to be stateside this spring. Trent & Tina Morrow will be in Oklahoma for itineration beginning in May. Fari Rider is scheduled to be stateside this fall. Jason & Roberta Roberts will be home in the spring. Grady & Janet Smalling are scheduled to be back in early summer. These returning missionaries will have stories to tell and victories to report. Oh yes, they all will have a new budget to raise.
Ted & Carolyn Heaston are just getting started in eating their elephant a bite at a time. They hope to have their assigned budget raised this year.
Veterans Itinerating
Ken & Sheila Vance have resigned their missions appointment after faithfully serving Global University and Life Publishers for 18 years. Their resignation was effective December 31, 2009. The Vance’s have moved back to Oklahoma City where they will serve God through their local church and business. Thank You Ken and Sheila for a job well done! Bob & Gioia Mihuc have officially resigned their appointment with US Missions. As reported earlier they are now pastoring in Oregon. We wish the Mihucs God’s very best.
Jeff & Tammy Coose are shoring up their budget having transferred back to AGWM from US Missions. Jeff and Tammy will be working with Jacob’s Hope, an outreach to the Jewish people of the world. Gary & Linda Gunsolus have designated much of this year to rebuild their budget. Since moving back to the South Central Region from the Southwest Region they have lost a considerable amount of monthly support. The Gunsoluses direct the RV MAPS ministry of church construction here in our region. This past year they completed projects in Okemah, Seminole, Mannsville, Hammon, Catoosa, and Morris, Oklahoma. Charlie & Dona Bunn will use the first part of the year to shore up some erosion to their budget as they continue working with university students. Kevin & Eunice Tyler will itinerate through summer before returning to Eastern Europe to work with International Teen Challenge. The Four Teen Challenge Centers in Oklahoma also book and hold services. Executive Director, Wayne Gray, has put a policy in place to bring more equality between the centers.
Candidates Itinerating
Itineraries Completed
Steven & Kimberly Snow continue to labor on the short side of their budget. At approximately 60% of required budget the next three months are absolutely crucial in raising the balance needed. Garo & Jordania Nargiz continue to itinerate in hopes of leaving for Brazil this spring. Charlie & Vickie Brown lack approximately 40% in committed pledges before they can devote their full attention to Africa Tabernacle Evangelism.
Loretta Wideman left for Africa to begin her next term immediately following District Council. Joni Middleton returned to Southern Asia last month. All of Joni’s budget was not raised, so she left ADP (as designations permit). Al & Emmanuela Perna returned to Germany in October. Their budget will be a little tight, but the cash offerings were good.

January 2010
November 10,1990 was a start of an experience that seems only a very short time ago. The time has flown by so quickly. In that period of time you have supported us in camps, put up with the starting of new ministry, supported us in the development of singles ministry, senior adult ministry and supported us in the development of several new areas of children’s ministry. At camp this last year our theme was called, “The Farewell Tour”. The purpose was to illustrate the thought that we would be having camp at Turner Falls for the last time. We intended on being at the new camp this upcoming year. We all know that this is not going to happen this year although we anticipate it to be very near. Some of you came to both Faye and I and ask point blank are you guys resigning the position of CE Directors and our response was no that we were going no where. Little did we know that you were more prophetic than any of us realized, at least partially? Some of you are aware that there is some major restructuring being done within our district. I believe some very needed and critical restructuring especially if we are going to be able to serve the district in the way we all deeply want to do. The beauty of a transition like this is that Faye and I are not leaving the ministry of the District but instead have the privilege of moving up to a new and exiting opportunity of ministry. We will assume the role of Executive Administrator. This is going to be an exciting and challenging opportunity and will have great diversity as well. We will give oversight to the construction of the new facility at Sparks; will be responsible for district owned property, equipment and facilities. We will also have the privilege of traveling the District on different tours such as sectional council and school of ministry tour. And we will serve the district by hopefully being a liaison between church and district. Our goal is to strive to lighten the load in whatever way possible as we assist our already overloaded District Superintendent. And will still have the privilege of ministering to the congregations across this great district.
Welcome January 2010
Jack Salkil We trust that you will still give us opportunity to preach to your congregations; hopefully these opportunities will increase now. I do have one request however, a request that is extremely simple. Brother Cargill and the executive board have asked Dean and Joy Guthrie to serve as the new children’s directors in this new restructuring process. All of you are aware that even though Faye and I had several areas of ministry within Christian Education, the greatest love of the ministry was and is the children. The request we have is simply to give Dean and Joy the same loving support that you gave us. Continue to attend camps, increase your giving to BGMC, start JBQ or continue to have teams, and get involved with other areas of children’s ministry that have been started. In other words show support in such a way that children’s ministry becomes the ministry and reaches the height that God intends it to be. We still believe that children’s ministry is the most important ministry in the church. We wish Dean and Joy nothing but the best as they minister. Our prayer is that children’s ministry will exceed all expectations as Dean and Joy share their passion, creativity and vision for this tremendous ministry. This ministry will not be a one-person ministry but instead will be a team effort by Dean, Joy, DJ, and Torie. You are going to be blessed. Again, thank you for your love, support, friendship and willingness to follow us in so many different endeavors. Please, remember that we have not and are not leaving the District office but are just moving forward and upward in a new and exciting direction of ministry. Faye and I love and deeply appreciate all of you.
Jack Salkil
We are so excited and anticipate the great things that God has in store for the Children’s Ministries across this great district. From BGMC to JBQ, Kids Camp to Fun Arts, we want to do what we can to assist you in all areas of children’s ministries. We are here for you. If there is anything that the Children’s Ministries Department can do for you, don’t hesitate to contact us. – Dean, Joy, D.J. and Tori Outlook
