A LOT HAS HAPPENED BETWEEN 2019 AND 2021!

TANT DE CHOSES SE SONT PASSÉES ENTRE 2019 ET 2021 !

After a wonderful edition in 2019, we were looking forward to 2020 with high hopes. However, few months before that edition was to take place, the world had suddenly and drastically changed, quarantine had become mandatory and the movie theaters shut down. Having no choice but to cancel the festival for the first time, we used the year to reflect. We realized that time were uncertain as we entered the second, third and forth wave of the pandemic and decided to create an online edition for 2021. With the festival online, we were able to offer more conferences and talks, Materclasses and even a larger selection of films. We also decided to open the platform to the Black Diaspora in light of many global discussions that also took centerstage in 2020.

We are very excited to offer the public this online edition that gives us a chance as a global community to come together once again, but safely. We have 33 films on offer including several world premiere. This edition also puts forward the new voices of Nigerian filmmakers that are sure to make waves in the near future. Let’s start the show!
