Højer Møbler is a Danish furniture manufacturer with over 20 years' experience from the development, production and delivery of furniture for the entire education sector. Since the company was founded, our mission has been to create beautiful design furniture of the highest quality, at attractive prices.

With focus on learning and the latest teaching trends, Højer Møbler is always one step ahead. Our furniture is designed and chosen for its simple, flexible and aesthetic design idiom, so that it can be combined in different environments, as required. THE FOUR DEGREES OF FREEDOM Children learn better when they can keep moving. Active learning should be part of every learning process, as well as in sport and supportive teaching. This makes it important to determine which activities will take place in the school's various areas, as the layout can determine the degree of freedom in the learning environment.

As a tool to determine the degree of freedom in the learning environment, we have developed the "four degrees of freedom". We can use this tool in our dialogue and cooperation with you, creating

a shared understanding of your interior design requirements. We should align our expectations of the degrees of freedom you require for the school's various learning environments. The "four degrees of freedom" are not limited to arranging the learning environments, but can also be used as a tool to define behaviour throughout the school. This will ensure greater continuity between the activities that are to take place in the school's various areas.

PERSONALITIES IN THE FOUR DEGREES OF FREEDOM When working with the four degrees of freedom to design the learning environment, it is important to think of the personalities that spend part of their daily lives at the school. The interior must then be designed to support their personal requirements. At Højer Møbler we work with various different personalities that we seek to accommodate in the development of new furniture, and also throughout the interior design process.

ZAP is a functional, flexible and movable workstation for differentiated learning environments. ZAP is mounted on the wall rail with a simple handgrip, transforming otherwise passive surfaces into workstations for both pupils and teachers. When ZAP is not in use, the elegant, discreet aluminium rail takes up no space at all, and can also be used for gallery-style exhibitions. Thanks to its unique material, ZAP is water-resistant and incredibly durable, and can also be used for lessons outdoors.

Our bodies are not made to sit still, and definitely not for long periods at a time. Variation, flexibility and ergonomics are keywords in our development of furniture for educational institutions.

IT and immersion The wall of shelves includes a shelf for laptop computers with a folding writing surface. The exterior can be covered with whiteboard, and the interior with felt in a contrasting colour.

Project work and communication Working at elevated desks encourages various different working positions. Elevated desks on wheels can be supplemented with a central island consisting of multi-shelves on wheels.

SPACE FOR IMMERSION The beanbag is developed especially for use in schools, daycare institutions and after-school clubs.

Canteen At many schools, the canteen is only used in the lunch break, and is left empty and unused for the rest of the day. Canteen space can be divided into areas and used for group work, to maximise use of the school's passive space.

CANTEEN TABLE TOPS

furnX has its own unique acoustic table top called MUTE. It reduces clattering noise by 18 dB. The ear experiences a noise reduction by 10dB as a 50% reduction. The table top can be used on all of our rectangular tables.

Reduce noise levels with MUTE After a long day at school, many pupils and teachers come home not just with new knowledge, but also headaches due to the high noise level in the school. At Højer Møbler we have developed a product to alleviate this problem.

In acoustic measurements performed by Delta, our unique MUTE table top has been shown to dampen noise by 18dB compared to ordinary table tops. The ear perceives a reduction of the noise level by 10dB as a 50% reduction.
