2022 HIGHLIGHTS AND HAPPENINGS at The Frontier Power Company



2022 Scholarship winners were:
1st Place: Sarah Garretson, Newcomerstown High School, and Rader Eastep, West Holmes High School
2nd Place: Allison Mizer, River View High School, and Gage Summers, River View High School. Sarah Garretson also was honorable mention at the statewide competition, earning an additional $1,500 in scholarships.
• Kaden Arnold of River View High School was awarded the Youth Tour trip to Washington, D.C.

• Britton McCoy, daughter of employee Mike McCoy, won first place in the Ohio Line Supervisor Association scholarship competition.


• Hired new employees Brian Rahn and Zachary Myers in our right-of-way department.
• Hired new employee Ashley Martin as an accounting representative.
• Jason Prater was hired as summer help to complete various jobs for the propane department.
• Ken Hunter, line superintendent, graduated from the Leadership Edge program.
• Josh Haumschild was promoted to construction foreman.

• Corey Miller was promoted to second class lineworker.
• Nick Beckett began the COLT lineworker training school and was promoted to third class lineworker.
• Blake McKee, who graduated from the COLT lineworker training school in 2021, was promoted to first class lineworker.
• Tyler Frazer was promoted to propane supervisor.
• Ethan Helmick was promoted to right-of-way crew leader.
• Hosted customer appreciation day on May 20 at the Frontier Power facility, with approximately 450 people in attendance.

• Rob Totten presented safety demonstrations for upcoming kindergartners during Safety Town and also for 14- and 15-year-olds, through a program with Ohio Means Jobs, Job and Family Services.
• Hosted our annual meeting at the Frontier Power facility on July 29, with nearly 650 members and guests in attendance. All members in attendance received a $10 bill credit. One member’s name was drawn for a $100 bill credit and 10 members’ names were drawn for a $25 bill credit.
