OHAYO was born from a lifelong love story with matcha. The founder's journey began at age 12 as an exchange student in Japan, where a first taste of vibrant organic ceremonial matcha sparked a passion that would span nearly three decades. Long before matcha became a global phenomenon, she was already captivated by Japan's best-kept wellness secret.
After years of living across Asia where tea became an integral part of daily life, the founder moved to Australia and discovered a gap in the market: truly high-quality, organic ceremonial matcha was simply not available. Having personally experienced the transformative health benefits of matcha including managing lupus and depression by switching away from coffee she turned her passion into a purpose-driven brand.
