Every autumn, Oak Grove’s Vietnamese Student Union takes over the Hill at lunch to celebrate Tết Trung Thu! Also known as the Mid-Autumn Festival or Children’s Festival, Tết Trung Thu falls on the day the moon is brightest to celebrate the children, the transition from autumn to winter, and traditions old and new. This year, VSU celebrates this special holiday on Friday, September 29th. During this time, families and friends gather to eat delicious mooncakes, light lanterns, and enjoy one another’s company. Some of VSU’s annual traditions at TTT on the Hill include Vietnamese hat & fan performances, singing, and a raffle! Also featured are a backdrop for students to take pictures with and… FREE MOONCAKES!! Prior to the Hill takeover, VSU collaborated with Interact and Key Club to make beautiful paper lanterns for this event. Thank you all for participating and we hope you continue to be a part of VSU events :))

We were thrilled to give Crossing Rain the opportunity to show off their talents of singing and dancing that did not disappoint!
Oak Grove was greatly appreciated for Crossing Rain and OG’s Poly club who helped spread awareness towards Maui’s current situation of wild fires even raising money to donate towards Maui’s wildfires. We would like to give a big thank you to all Oak Grove clubs who came out to sell delicious food and drinks throughout the night. We would like to give an even bigger thank you to Oak Grove Choir that brought out Kona Ice to cool down the crowd. A special shout out to our other vendors that helped make the night such as Martha’s Catering that stayed to vendor for our football game the same day! ASB is forever grateful for everyone who came out to support and enjoy our first Beats N’ Eats of this year and hope you come out again to enjoy our Spring Beats N’ Eats!!
Football season is back! We had our first preseason game against Hollister where we unfortunately lost. But watch us bounce back in our upcoming football games! Make sure to come out and support our Eagles and see them SOAR! Game admissions are $8, but with a purchase of our ASB card you can get in for FREE!! Don’t forget to check out our vendors at the game and help them fund raise money. Be on a special look out for our very own Eagle Mascot on the stands and around our student section, the Birds Nest!!
Link crew in itself is a group of upperclassmen who help freshmen integrate themselves to their first year at high school; Oak Grove. Things that we encourage are school culture such as SOAR, Roll Call, and etiquette as a student. To kick off the year Link Crew helped at Freshman Orientation with tours around the school as well as exposing them to campus culture. To keep the Freshman involved, we held a “Get to Know OG” scavenger hunt with the reward of otter pops. As well as, Freshmen Get in Free night with certain games! Look out for our annual Halloween Movie night with snacks; date to be determined! We send out reminders on current news and create gatherings @oglinkcrew.
With the help from Mr.Anderson and Ms. Brazil, OG was able to revamp our weight room to make it safer and more efficient for our students. With the help of Valley Christian, we were able to receive some $25,000 equipment at a discounted cost of $2,000. This new equipment is safer, more accessible, and allows for more movement and space within the weight room. Big thank you to the Assets program and Goodwill that donated $18000.
