TURKEY TAIL

(Trametes versicolor, Coriolus versicolor) The Turkey Tail mushroom is a potent medicinal mushroom that grows abundantly in North America and easily identified due to its resembling the tail of a wild turkey. Found growing on dead wood, this polypore or bracket fungi is sometimes referred to as a conk because of its woody fruiting body. Turkey Tail grows abundantly, dries easily and has immune boosting properties among its many health benefits.

Turkey Tail, an immuno-stimulant, has been used as a protocol for cancer in Asia and Japan for many centuries. It is an antiviral and antioxidant, and has shown to reduce inflammation.

This fungi can be chopped and boiled as a strong tea, and though slightly bitter to the taste, it can be less so by adding peppermint or other tasty herbs.

HEALING HOME Our home environment has a frequency that has a significant impact on our emotions and well-being. Growing food can also be easily done in small spaces, such as patio containers and on windowsills.

REGENERATIVE AGRICULTURE Commercial agriculture is one of the top contributors

to dangerous changes to our ecosystems, and has the biggest impact on the earth’s landscape.

Current methods result in the loss of healthy soil and is a major problem facing the planet. Regenerative farming and no-till approaches to cultivation keep vital microbial and mycelium networks intact, enriching the earth while providing nutrient dense produce.

Shifting our soil practices to sustainable methods is not difficult if farmers are given incentive to move in this direction by policy makers. Regenerative farming requires less or no pesticide and fertilizer inputs, which will improve water quality, prevent wildlife habitat degradation, support farmworkers, and slow human caused climate change.

We can produce organic foods locally on small farms, close geographically to where foods are consumed. By learning from indigenous approaches, we will develop a system that is truly sustainable & provides community food security for generations to come.
