S-T-E-A-M SCALE EVENT CLASSIFICATION
At the bottom of event listings* is the word S-T-E-A-M and a number next to it. This S-T-E-A-M Scale Classification System was developed by Thomas F. Peeper to help attendees decide which shows they would like to attend based on what each show has to offer. Each letter represents a different attraction the show is offering and the number associated with it represents how much of that attraction attendees can see during the show. For example, if a show’s scale is S-2, that means the show will have anywhere from 5-10 steam engines running. We hope this scale will help you with your show attendance planning! An explanation of what each letter in S-T-E-A-M stands for and the number of attractions.
