• Restrooms are located on the second and fifth floor.

• Please no flash photography or smoking (including e-cigarettes).

• Bag check is available at the Visitor Services desk.

• If carrying a bag, visitors should carry their bags on their side or front.

• No food or drink is permitted in galleries.

OUR MISSION

The mission of Ogden Museum of Southern Art is to broaden the knowledge, understanding, interpretation and appreciation of the visual arts and culture of the American South through events, permanent collection, changing exhibitions, educational programs, publications and research.

ACCESSIBILITY

Ogden Museum of Southern Art strives to create accessible spaces for visitors of all abilities. To help you plan your trip and make your visit as easy and comfortable as possible, visit www.ogdenmuseum.org/accessibility. Here is some helpful information:

• Service animals are welcome at Ogden Museum.

• All restrooms are equipped with baby changing stations.

• All levels of the Museum are accessible by elevator, including exhibition spaces and public facilities.

• The front entrance to the Museum and all restrooms are wheelchair accessible.

• For your comfort, manual wheelchairs are available for checkout on a first-come, first-served basis.

• Large-print materials and verbal description services are available with at least one week’s notice.

KEITH DUNCAN: BATTLE OF THE BANDS (FLOOR 5)

Keith Duncan’s Battle of the Bands celebrates the vibrant tradition of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) marching bands. The exhibition features large-scale fabric paintings of fifteen Southern HBCU bands, human-scale fabric paintings and smaller works on paper depicting each band’s drum major.

THE UNENDING STREAM (FLOOR 3)

The Unending Stream is a two-part exhibition that showcases the thriving community of photographers in New Orleans. The title of the exhibition pays homage to a Clarence John Laughlin photograph of the same title, which is a part of the permanent collection at Ogden Museum of Southern Art.

HOA TAY (FLOWER HANDS) (FLOOR 4)

Hoa Tay (Flower Hands), is an exhibition which centers emerging and established Vietnamese-American artists working throughout the American South. These artists use diverse media and styles to forge their own distinctive vision, conveying narratives of the Vietnamese Diaspora, both personal and universal.

CRESCENT CITYSCAPES (FLOOR 4)

Crescent Cityscapes draws primarily from the permanent collection of Ogden Museum to show how artists have portrayed the Crescent City through drawings, paintings, photographs and prints. These works show the deep and lasting influence of the built environment and natural light of New Orleans upon the visual arts.

12TH ANNUAL HBCU ART SHOWCASE (FLOOR 3)

This exhibition, presented by The New Orleans Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, spotlights the works of art created by students attending Dillard University and Xavier University of Louisiana.

MATT SCOBEY: CASE STUDY (FLOOR 4 )

Matt Scobey creates works, installations and furniture that invite curious interaction. Responsive to public space and everyday materials, Scobey’s work experiments with how to frame the encounter in projects that range from sculptural interventions in a grocery store or a cardboard living room where museum goers can relax from social media to high design objects reconceived with Arte Povera materials.
