Art has the unique ability to tell a story…
Mackenzie’s work has a special way of bringing a tangibility and affirmation to someone’s story that was not there before with elements responding to the environment of others or his own in a way that is both current and timeless.
For example, he recently incorporates the sunflower into several of his pieces to speak hope for healing into situation in Ukraine, using acknowledgement of their nation’s beloved sunflower. This can both celebrate the heart and open a door for healing.
Allowing these brave children an opportunity to heal through learning, expression, and giving back color-filled glimpses into their own hearts to their community and the institute that is helping them in whatever trials they face.
