What an incredible spectacle the British Masters was at Close House.
The TV shots of the course and the wider region showcased what a beautiful part of the world we live in while the amazing crowds must surely convince Tour organisers to find a way of staging more tournaments in the North of England.
There is plenty of comment and coverage elsewhere in the magazine on the event so I will keep it short - well done to all involved on putting on such a magnificent tournament and to Lee Westwood for getting so many world-class players on board. You all did the region proud.
Also doing the region proud were Ramside Hall and Lookers Renault, the hosts and supporters of Northern Golfer’s Champion of Champion events.
Their input and support ensured all three tournaments ran smoothly and were a great success. The course was in superb condition despite the challenging weather conditions.
