ighlighting immense H determination and their team’s strong bond, the
College of Teacher Education (CTE) outdistanced seven competing units with 13 championship titles today, April 30, in the athletic events held at Ramon M. Durano Sr. Memorial Sports Complex, Danao City. CTE anchored a strong finish with a total of 13 championship titles, six (6) second-place spots, and four (4) third-place rankings in the running, throwing, and jumping events.
Freshman Godwin Mascardo Fuentes (Bachelor of Culture and Arts Education) of CTE dominated the oval, securing three championship titles in the 1500-meter run (5:39.41), 800-m run (2:39.61) and in the team’s 4x400-m relay (4:30.73). Moreover, he disclosed that he suffered a leg injury for the past four months and how that did not stop him from relaying his unbeatable skills in the 1500-meter dash, leaving his competitors behind with a record of 5 minutes and 39 seconds. Fuentes furthered that he
was only able to train properly last week but he wanted to repay his coach, Mr. James Luresh Un, for his unending support through winning. Meanwhile, CTE’s Angelyn Potot (Bachelor of Early Childhood Education I) outran her opponents in the women’s 400-meter run (1:21.30) and 800-meter run (3:18.19). “... we did whatever it takes bahala’g maunsa na, basta kay go for gold jud,” she expressed, furthering how their coach told them not TURN TO PAGE 2

ith their groovy W performance, the Cebu Normal University (CNU) College of Nursing and Allied Health Services (CNAHS) triumphed among seven competing units in the Street Dance Competition held this afternoon at the Idea and Knowledge Center (IKC). The nine Nightingale dancers exuded charisma and stage presence which earned
them cheers from the crowd of Normalites from the different units. In an interview with Ang Suga, team captain Anton Bolanio (Bachelor of Science in Nursing II) highlighted that surviving the challenges they faced in preparing for the competition was a matter of sacrifice and compromising for each other.
