DESIGN GLOBAL ADVENTURES In an increasingly interconnected and interdependent world, international experience is essential, no matter what your goals and interests may be.

That’s why a global perspective specifically tailored for Honors students is a distinctive part of your experience when you choose Belmont Global Honors. With Belmont as a launch pad, you’ll live and study in some of the world’s greatest locations.

LIVE AND LEARN ABROAD In the spring semester of the second year, study abroad at one of our prestigious partner institutions across the globe, accompanied by Belmont faculty members. You’ll live, learn and engage with other Belmont Global Honors students as you pursue courses in both your major and the Honors Core.

The Honors Semester Abroad will allow you to: • Complete the Honors Study Abroad Writing Workshop and an additional course in the Honors Core • Take an additional 2-3 courses in your major or minor: All study abroad locations are carefully selected to complement your major or minor requirements • Participate in unique opportunities: » Study at an internationally recognized university and meet other international students from countries around the world » Enjoy special cultural immersion events » Engage in service learning

LIFE BEYOND THE CLASSROOM Belmont Global Honors students are highly involved in improving life in our community through Belmont’s more than 160 clubs and organizations, serving as leaders in Greek life, student government, missions, service organizations and more. From designing social and educational experiences for peers as part of the Honors Student Council, reaching out to prospective Belmont Global Honors students as Bruin Recruiters, to taking part in workshops designed to foster leadership, communication and team-building skills, you’ll also have enormous opportunities to build personal leadership experiences that enhance your capacity to lead and serve.

MORE THAN A SEQUENCE OF CLASSES Belmont Global Honors is a place for students who want to take ownership over their educational process in order to find their place in the world, and they find success in employment at top companies in their field, in graduate programs at prestigious universities and in recognition through Fulbright Scholarships, Lumos Travel Awards, the Peace Corps and more.

Honors students are also: • Provided unique access to private receptions and salons with distinguished guest speakers, where you’ll have exclusive access to network with government leaders, executives, artists and more.

• Recognized as Belmont Honors Scholars in the commencement program and receive a unique medallion worn at graduation.

• Given support for project research. You will be assigned a personal librarian.

Your Honors project will become a part of Belmont’s permanent library collection and made accessible to anyone in the world.

JOIN US We invite all freshmen applicants with a GPA of 3.5 or higher to apply to Belmont Global Honors. Submit your application to Belmont University by the December 1 priority deadline and include a brief statement of no more than 500 words illustrating something you’ve already done or made that demonstrates your engagement in the Honors values. Or, explain in no more than 500 words how these values are important to your future.

Belmont Global Honors admission is on a rolling timeline. You should hear an Honors admission decision a few weeks after your acceptance into Belmont.

A LT E R N AT I V E C R E D I T Many Honors students have worked very hard during high school and arrive at Belmont with AP/IB credits, and the Belmont Global Honors takes a generous posture toward these credits. AP/IB credit earned during secondary school should first be applied to degree cognates and as elective credit. In consultation with the Director, an Honors student may also substitute AP/IB credit toward a maximum of three Honors Foundations courses. At Belmont, a maximum total of 24 hours of credit may be earned through AP/IB and/or CLEP combined.
