WHAT MAKES US UNIQUE? FLEXIBILITY Students in our programs have tremendous flexibility in how they structure their electives, and work one-on-one with advisors to customize a program of study that will best prepare them for rewarding career paths. Because of this flexibility, students are able to pick up an extra minor, do multiple internships and/or take courses that will help them develop (or find) their skills and interests.

ENGAGED LEARNING Throughout their time at Belmont, Communication Studies students are engaged in rich learning experiences.

Theory comes to life when students actively apply it in real-world contexts. For example, in recent years: • Family Communication students created video family memoirs for residents of a nearby retirement home; • Students studied communication all over the world, from Sydney to London to Guatemala; • Majors and minors staffed our Speech Lab and peertutored students in the basic public speaking course; • Students interned in a variety of organizations and industries to build their portfolios and prepare for the world of work.
