Climbing the Emissions Summit The recent 8th Integer Emissions Summit & DEF Forum (learn more, 10288184) brought together industry professionals from

around the world to discuss the challenges, the technologies and

the future of emissions reduction in the heavy-duty on- and off-highway vehicle markets. A blend of OEMs, aftertreatment technology providers, engine man-

ufacturers and association officials presented and conversed on topics ranging from market trends to Stage V to out-of-the-box technology solutions.

One topic that surfaced several times was the “All of the Above” solution to

reducing emissions. There is not going to be a single solution that magically

works for every vehicle’s specific variations in applications, environments and duty cycles, several people stated. Each vehicle can have unique space con-

straints, NVH requirements, emissions cycles, dosing strategies, ambient tem-

perature and altitude challenges...the list goes on. To think that there could be

one solution for all of the variation in the on- and off-highway vehicle market is, at best, wishful thinking.

There was also a reminder to recognize different regional requirements in

emerging economies such as India and China. “Economic challenges are real,”

est tunneling jumbo, the DT922i (read more, 12113830). According to Tommi Salo, Product Line Manager of Tunneling Drills at Sandvik, the new machine design came about in

Operating parameters, sequences, timers and alarms are easily changed, allowing the module to be adapted for use, allowing OEMs to standardize on one product, while covering multiple applications.

The DSEE400 is compatible with conventional engines and the latest Tier IV electronic (CAN) engines, providing built-in governor control, pump control, automatic and manual speed control including speed ramping, clutch control and flexible automatic start control. The CAN features include full DPF regeneration management to help prolong engine life.Many other features are included as standard.

The new DSEE400 is a compact, waterproof module with a combination of multi-flex and digital inputs, configurable outputs and a dedicated emergency stop function. Engine protections, status, diagnostics & alarms are displayed on a clear LCD screen in a choice of languages. An eight event scheduler covering seven days a week is included for specific or planned â&#x20AC;&#x2DC;runâ&#x20AC;&#x2122; periods.

Configuration changes are easily made by downloading the DSE Configuration Suite PC Software from the DSE website, providing a userfriendly, licence-free interface.
