SUSTAINABILITY

We at OEM Automatic aim to minimise our environmental impact and strive for sustainable development.

OEM is following the United Nations’ 17 global goals, agreed by world leaders in 2015 as the UN’s 2030 agenda for sustainable development. These goals aim to tackle the climate crisis and associated issues such as hunger, human rights, extreme poverty and more.

We are focusing on four of the global goals, outlined below, and will quantify our results and report regularly according to the protocol and framework.

Decent Work And Economic Growth

This global goal focuses on sustainable and inclusive economic growth, whilst maintaining productive employment and decent work for employees. It includes protecting labour rights and ensuring everyone has access to entrepreneurship and innovation at OEM Automatic.

Climate Action

By educating and innovating throughout the organisation, we want to do our bit to tackle climate change.

Inclusion And Diversity

Inequality is not tolerated at OEM Automatic. We want to give access and opportunities regardless of varying factors and aim to focus on increasing talent within the organisation.

INDUSTRY, INNOVATION AND INFRASTRUCTURE

By making efforts to upgrade and innovate, OEM can contribute to creating a functioning and resilient infrastructure. We want to promote sustainable technologies and innovate within our industry, offering new developments for our customers.

MANUFACTURERS’ SUSTAINABILITY

We expect that our manufacturers should not just follow their country’s statutory environmental commitments but also align with our sustainability goals. We also ensure our manufacturers intend to create products that align with our sustainability goals and help the environment as much as they can.

Charity

As a Leicester business, we’ve supported our local hospice, LOROS, for many years. LOROS is a charity which delivers free, high-quality, compassionate care and support to terminally ill patients, their family and carers.

We also support staff when they take part in fund-raising charity events, such as marathons.

Staff Wellbeing

Making sure our staff are happy is paramount to us, and we make mental health just as important as physical health. With practises such as regular 1-1’s, access to health services and conducting internal surveys, we make sure everyone is happy with themselves and the environment they are in.
