I don’t think that architecture is only about shelter, is only about a very simple enclosure. It should be able to excite you, to calm you, to make you think.

My approach to architecture is grounded in two key principles: the human experience and community. I believe that architecture is not merely about creating buildings but about shaping environments that enhance the lives of those who inhabit them.

By prioritizing the human experience, My focus is to create spaces that are not only functional but also evoke emotions, promote well-being, and create memorable moments to meet the unique needs and aspirations of its users, ensuring that the final design resonates deeply with them and contributes positively to their daily lives.

INTERSECTION HOUSE

303 McCall St, Houston, TX 77020

Spring Semester 2024

Professor Jon K. Story

Transitional Housing

The Intersection House, which is designed as transitional housing for the homeless, combines the various hierarchical planes and intersecting lines to help foster community bonds, by encouraging interactions between the homeless residents, and those living with the areas surrounding the site. The layout of these lines and points in the landscape creates a modular design that connects the linear aspects of the building to the site features. This strategy also allows for the facilitation of future expansions from the central axis (the building) to the site’s boundaries.

Fall Semester 2023

Professor Rafael Beneytez-Duran

Recycling Center

In a site, where the influence and waste of humans has affected the way in which ecology has developed. ‘mesocosms’ serves to bridge this divide and allow for the germination of multiple ecosystems (which represent the different ecosystems located within the vicinity of Galveston Bay). The main structure will house the recycling center, where visitors will be educated on the benefits and risks of recycling. Furthermore, the plastic bought in by boats, trucks, and individuals will be gathered and converted into grounding for the structure for the meso-ecosystems.

Through a variety of medias, I aim to explore the different forms in which art/design can be harnessed. These moments of exploration help to understand the methods in an idea, scene, image represented. Delving into these medias will serve as a method to improving my skills as an architect and growth as a individual.
