2015 was an historic milestone, with the adoption of the Addis Ababa Action Agenda on financing for development, the Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development Goals, and the Paris Agreement. Developed and developing countries need now to focus on implementation, in order to deliver on the commitments and contributions that they have entered into. In terms of climate, an unprecedented global infrastructure and technological transformation is needed in just a few decades to achieve the low-emissions, climate-resilient development pathways consistent with keeping global average temperature increase well-below 2°C, with efforts to limit it to 1.5°C. As well as supporting the international climate negotiations over many years, the OECD has increased its efforts to help both OECD members and non-OECD countries move towards low-emissions, climate-resilient development pathways and to deliver on their national and international commitments and contributions.
