TheManagingEditorisresponsibleforkeepingtheproductionofthemagazineontrack Theyshould createaproductioncalendarandupdateitregularly.TheManagingEditorholdsmonthlycheck ins(the fourthThursdayofeachmonth)withtheEditorialBoardinordertotrack theprogressofthemagazineandtoensurethatEditorsareabidingby theproductioncalendar Thesecheck insshouldincludein depthnotes andafollow upmeetingifnecessary

TheManagingEditorshouldfeelcomfortablesteppinginforthe Editors in ChiefinclubandEditorialBoardmeetingsaswellasinofficial contexts,includingmeetingswithcommunitymembersandconferences. TheManagingEditorshouldmaintainconsistentcommunication (respondingtoalltextswithin12hours,offeringthoughtfulresponses, communicatingwiththeEICforclarification)withtheEditorialBoard andclubmembersinordertomaintainacloserelationshipwith teammates.Ifaconflictarises,theManagingEditorandadviserwillmeet withthememberandusearestorativejusticeprotocoltoresolvethe situation

TheDesignEditorisresponsibleforthevisualappearanceofalloftheiliadliterary artmagazine’s presence,withtheexceptionofsocialmedia.TheDesignEditormustdevelopandupdatethestyle palette,andworkwiththeEIC,theadviser,andtheSocialMediaCoordinatortomakesurethewebsite, magazine,andsocialmedia’sdesignsarecohesivetothemagazine’sdesignstylepalette TheDesign Editoralsodesignsspreadsforthemagazine,collaborateswiththeEICandVisualandWritingdirectors tocollectandsortvisualsandwrittenwork,anddesignsflyers,programs,posters,shirts,andothermedia asneeded.

TheVisualsDirectorisresponsibleforcollectingallvisualsubmissions Inordertodothis,theymust maintainarelationshipwiththeartdepartment TheVisualsDirectorshouldreachouttoteachersabout theirstudents’work,aswellascontactthesestudentsaboutpublishingtheirwork Theyareexpectedto conductpresentationsinartclassestoinformstudentsaboutsubmittingtotheiliadandshouldbevery comfortablewithpublicspeaking.Theymustscheduleatimewithartteacherstovisittheirclassand speaktotheirstudents Theyshouldrecordthepresentationforclassesthatcan’tmeet

OncetheEditorialBoardhasdecidedontheartpiecesthathavebeenacceptedtothemagazine,the VisualsDirectorisresponsibleforarrangingaplantoreceiveartists’workandprovidingthemtothe Editors in ChieforManagingEditorforimaging.TheVisualsDirectorshouldfeelcomfortableassisting theEditors in Chiefwithdesign.Thisincludespairingpiecesandcontributingtothespreaddesign.

TheVisualsDirectorshouldensurethatnoartsubmissionsarelostinthescanning/photographing stage Theymustfollowthesubmissionpolicydiligentlyandareresponsibleforreturningartworktothe artistwhosubmittedit

WritingDirector

InadditiontotheiliadInstagram,theSocialMediaCoordinatorisresponsiblefortheiliadFacebook page TheFacebookpageshouldcontainthesameinformationastheInstagram,aswellasinformation targetedtowardsparentsandadultsintheschoolcommunity

TheSocialMediaCoordinatorshouldkeepaconsistentbrandandaestheticthroughtheiliadsocial mediafeeds.TheyshoulddesignpostsonCanva,writecaptions,andsendthemtotheEICforapproval.

TheyshouldworkalongsidetheOutreachDirectortokeepauniformbrandthroughoutallaspectsofthe iliad.

Attendance:

Editorsareonlyallowedtomiss2EditorialBoard meetingspersemesterwithoutanexcusedabsenceand 3meetingsexcusedpersemester Tobeconsidereda clubmember,studentsshouldnotmissmorethan1 meetingasemester.Clubmembersareexpectedto submitanattendanceformateverymeetingthey attend.EdBoardmembersareexpectedtoattend out of schooliliadobligationsincludingjournalism conferences,teambondingactivities,magazine distribution,etc EdBoardmembersarealsoexpectedto attend1hourofAfterSchoolperweek.

Communication:

Communicationisacorevalueoftheiliadstaff.iliad EditorialBoardmembersshouldcommunicateover email(eitherODYSSEYorCCSDemail),call,andtext.
