REGRETS

I wish I could’ve said goodbye You may ask me why I know I said it once But once is not enough And in saying it, I felt like a lie.

Some may question how I got away For so many people, it causes them to stray I’ve spent my whole life running from these feelings Sometimes I can’t believe I wouldn’t wish on anyone this way

Please grant me the world Please don’t be concerned I wish I knew how to tell you The words on my tongue are new Life is but a harrowing bird

And so, I tell you this, hoping for closure I’m hoping you’ll hear my argument as you get older But the words on that paper are burnt into ashes I’m hoping this doesn’t get out to the masses It’ll all boil over.
