TRANSMODERNA, DIXON’S NEW VENTURE IN IBIZA. Sin lugar a dudas, una de las gratas sorpresas de Ibiza 2019, es la nueva fiesta de Dixon, llamada: Transmoderna.

El line up de artistas que acompañaran a Dixon, en la que será su primera residencia semanal en la isla de Ibiza, lo comprenden desde nombres como, Âme, Dj Koze, talento español como el de John Talabot o Pional, y nombres más que conocidos en la isla como: Solomun o Tale of Us.

El mítico club alemán Robert Johnson cumple 20 años con una gran fiesta el 28 de junio.

Para festejar estos 20 años de música, desde la dirección de Robert Johnson han decidido celebrarlo con una fiesta que comenzará el viernes 28 de junio, y terminara el lunes 1 de julio, 60 horas de música.

El club con capacidad para 250 personas, no ha dado a conocer aun quienes serán los artistas invitados de su aniversario, pero estamos seguros de que no faltaran algunos de los habituales del club germano.

The legendary German club, Robert Johnson, is going to celebrate its 20th anniversary with a big party on June 28.

To celebrate those 20 years of music, the management at Robert Johnson has decided to celebrate it with a party that is going to start on Friday, June 28, and will end on July, 1: 60 hours of music.

The club, which holds up to 250 people, has still not released the names of the guest artists that are going to be there at the anniversary, but we are sure that some of the German club’s regulars are not going to be missing.

Without a doubt, one of nicest surprises for Ibiza in 2019 is the new party by Dixon called Transmoderna.

The line-up of artists who are going to accompany Dixon, on what is going to be his first weekly residency on the island of Ibiza, includes names ranging from Âme, DJ Koze, Spanish talent such as John Talabot and Pional, to better-known names on the island such as Solomun and Tale of Us. From May 24 onwards, Dixon is attempting to come up with a new offer for Friday nights in Ibiza with his project, Transmoderna, each Friday over the next 20 weeks.

Maktub es la nueva residencia del artista Satori, todos los jueves del 6 de junio al 26 de septiembre.

El conocido club, apuesta en esta sesión, por la fusión de sonido entre djs y Live Act. El objetivo es presentar, educar y ampliar el conocimiento sobre Live vs Dj en la cultura underground de Ibiza.

En palabras del propio Satori: “El objetivo principal es convertir un live en una obra de arte real y darle el mismo valor que el rendimiento de una banda. De esta manera estamos ampliando los límites de la música electrónica.

Ibiza es conocida por ser el centro de la música electrónica, pero actualmente todo se basa en la cultura de los DJ. Con este concepto queremos romper con esta cultura de DJ y, expandir el concepto artístico / musical de la isla, fortaleciendo los lives”.

¿CUÁLES HAN SIDO VUESTRAS PRINCIPALES INFLUENCIAS MUSICALES PARA SER HOY EL GRUPO QUE SOIS? ¿CÓMO OS DEFINÍS, GARAGE ROCK, POST PUNK, ROCK O UNA ESPECIE DE TODAS JUNTAS? Siempre nos hemos considerado una banda de rock n’ roll con canciones que suenan más punk, garage o incluso pop, y hemos estado influenciados por todo tipo de música de los años 60/70 hasta hoy, pasando por la Movida Madrileña.

¿CÓMO PLANTEÁIS LAS TRES FECHAS POR LOS DIFERENTES HOTELES COMO UNA ESPECIE DE PEQUEÑA GIRA? ¿OS ESPERABAIS ESTE PLANTEAMIENTO DE UNA CADENA DE HOTELES? Totalmente, es un “Mediterranean Tour” de tres días. Bueno, no es la primera vez que vamos a tocar en hoteles, pero sí es la primera que hacemos varios conciertos seguidos por hoteles de la misma cadena en distintas ciudades. Nos hace mucha ilusión poder formar parte de esta gira y transmitiremos toda la energía para que se convierta en una experiencia única.

DESPUÉS DE LA GIRA POR LOS HOTELES OD ACTUÁIS EN MADCOOL. ¿ENFOCÁIS ESTE FORMATO DE GRANDES FESTIVALES IGUAL QUE ACTUAR EN UN PEQUEÑO CLUB? ¿TENÉIS MAYOR ILUSIÓN EN UNO QUE EN OTRO? ¿SOIS IGUAL DE “GAMBERROS” EN AMBOS? Normalmente el enfoque es el mismo, pero es verdad que cuando tocamos en escenarios más grandes solemos contar con algún músico más para que el sonido sea aún mas consistente ya que suelen ser todos en espacios abiertos, pero la actitud y las ganas siempre son las mismas.

¿CUÁL ES LA MAYOR “CAGADA” QUE UNO HA TENIDO QUE SOPORTAR DEL OTRO? ¿EL MOMENTO MÁS EMBARAZOSO? Pues Álex hace no mucho se quedo dormido y no subió al avión que nos llevaba a Manchester, pero lo pudimos arreglar y llego 30 minutos antes de subir al escenario (risas).

¿CON QUÉ OS MOLA MÁS EMBORRACHAROS, CON LICOR O CON “MIL CERVEZAS”?

Primero unas cervezas y luego los gin tonics.

¿NOS PODÉIS CONTAR EN QUÉ ESTÁIS TRABAJANDO AHORA? ¡LLEGA EL VERANO Y LOS FESTIVALES, Y SEGURO QUE TENÉIS MENOS TIEMPO! En Julio nos vamos a Londres a empezar la grabación de nuestro segundo disco.

¿CÓMO HA SIDO PARTICIPAR EN PAQUITA SALAS? Una pasada.

¿ES CIERTO QUE VAIS DE VACACIONES A SEQUEROS? Sequeros es el pueblo de Diego, y él va allí todos los años. Hace unos meses nos fuimos los dos allí y en un garaje montamos un pequeño estudio donde estuvimos componiendo temas para el disco.

WHAT HAVE BEEN YOUR MAIN MUSICAL INFLUENCES TO BE THE BAND YOU ARE TODAY? HOW DO YOU DEFINE YOURSELVES, GARAGE ROCK, POST PUNK, ROCK OR A KIND OF ALL TOGETHER? We’ve always considered ourselves a rock n’ roll band with songs that sound more punk, garage or even pop and we’ve been influenced by all kinds of music from the 60’s/70’s until today, going through the Movida Madrileña.

HOW DO YOU PROPOSE THE 3 DATES FOR THE DIFFERENT HOTELS AS A KIND OF SMALL TOUR? DID YOU EXPECT THIS APPROACH OF A CHAIN OF HOTELS? Totally, it is a “Mediterranean Tour” of three days. Well, it’s not the first time we’re going to play in hotels, but it’s the first time we’ve done several concerts followed by hotels of the same chain in different cities. We are very excited to be part of this tour and will transmit all the energy to become a unique experience.

AFTER THE TOUR AROUND THE OD HOTELS YOU PERFORM IN MADCOOL, DO YOU FOCUS ON THIS FORMAT OF BIG FESTIVALS LIKE PERFORMING IN A SMALL CLUB? ARE YOU MORE EXCITED ABOUT ONE THAN THE OTHER? ARE YOU THE SAME HOOLIGANS IN BOTH? Normally the approach is the same, but it’s true that when we play on bigger stages we usually have a few more musicians to make the sound even more consistent as they tend to be all in open space, but the attitude and desire are always the same.

WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELVES IN 5 YEARS? Playing of course.

YOU TELL US YOUR 3 FAVORITE BANDS. Los Nastys, Bodega and Foxygen.

IF YOU HAD TO CHOOSE THE BEST PERFORMANCE OF YOUR CAREER, WHICH ONE DID YOU STAY WITH? A very special one was Glastonbury’s or last year’s at FIB.

WHICH IS THE BIGGEST “SHIT” THAT ONE HAS HAD TO ENDURE FROM THE OTHER? Well, Alex didn’t fall asleep long ago and didn’t board the plane that took us to Manchester, but we were able to fix it and he arrived 30 minutes before getting on stage (laughs).

WHAT’S THE BEST WAY TO GET DRUNK, WITH LIQUOR OR WITH A THOUSAND BEERS? First a few beers and then the gin tonics.

CAN YOU TELL US WHAT YOU ARE WORKING ON NOW? SUMMER AND FESTIVALS ARE COMING AND I’M SURE YOU HAVE LESS TIME! In July we’re going to London to start recording our second album.

WHAT HAS IT BEEN LIKE TO PARTICIPATE IN PAQUITA SALAS? It was a great experience.

IS IT TRUE THAT YOU ARE GOING ON HOLIDAY TO SEQUEROS? Sequeros is Diego’s town, and he goes there every year. And a few months ago we both went there and in a garage we set up a small studio and we were composing songs for the album.

YOU ARE ONE OF THE PIONEERS OF THE DETROIT TECHNO MUSIC BIRTH MOVEMENT. IN 1985 YOU WERE ALREADY PRODUCING MUSIC. HOW WAS MUSIC PRODUCED IN THOSE YEARS?

If you had the money then you would go into a studio and record your ideals. There where lots of professional studios back then But you had to know what you where doing so you would not waste time and money.

I was not a train musician it’s safe to say most of us where not. When I first started to record I used to work the

whole song out with a two tack sequencer then record to a cassette tape then I purchased a tascam porta one four track cassette tape recorder then latter I bought a two track reel to reel tape recorder with the reel to reel I could do long mixes and edit them together that was before the computers came into music production.

WHICH MACHINES DO YOU REMEMBER TO HANDLE? Roland TR-909, Juno 60, Memory Moog was my favorite combination to create a track with.

IN THOSE DAYS, WHO INSPIRED YOU, WHO WERE YOUR REFERENCES? The music was my main inspiration I grew up listing to all the Motown Soul music I love it. In my teenage years George Moroder, Kraftwerk, New Order Depeche Mode, Visage, George Clinton. Back then I was a post punk.

HOW DO YOU GET TO ADOPT THE NICKNAME OF PRINCE OF TECHNO? WHAT EXPLANATION DOES IT HAVE?

Cliff Thomas owned the best DJ record store in Detroit called Buy-Rite records and he also had a few record labels like Express records and incognito records.

He started that. Because of my sexy lyric style and I had a crazy style back then. I did not like the name but somehow the tag stuck to me.

Mike Banks and Jeff Mills put it on a record release on the Underground Resistance label. I had ask them before the record was made not to use the Prince of Techno name but they did away.

DETROIT HAS BEEN CONSIDERED THE BIRTHPLACE OF TECHNO. WHICH PRODUCER ARTISTS DO YOU THINK DID THE MOST FOR DETROIT TECHNO? Group wise I would say Cybotron, Inner City, Underground Resistance. I could not say one person because it was a city wide movement with many artist creative contributions. It was not one two or thee it was many.

AFTER 34 YEARS IN THE SCENE AND HAVING BEEN A RESIDENT OF BIG CLUBS, TO BE ONE OF THE PRECURSORS OF TECHNO. WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU STILL HAVE SOMETHING TO DO IN YOUR LONG PROFESSIONAL CAREER? Once an artist, always an artist it will always be the next DJ set the Next release.

Yes, I have a few more projects that I want to do.

For myself I still want to do some bigger and better then what I did personally in the past. Music is a love, a hobby, a passion and a profession. I feel blessed and grateful too still be around and doing what i love.

WHAT WOULD YOU SAY WAS YOUR BEST YEAR? WHAT HAPPENED? 1991 I started to travel, tour Germany. Underground Resistance and Tresor a great year.

AND THE WORST? THAT YEAR THAT MAYBE IS TO FORGET...

1989 was a hard year mentally. 2009 was the worst year of my life on so many levels it hurts to think about it.

DID YOU EVER THINK ABOUT LEAVE THE MUSIC INDUSTRY? WHY WOULD YOU HAVE DONE THAT? Yes, I thought about it at one point, all the traveling it’s hard to maintain a stable family and a relationship if you’re on the road every week I had a good job but I could not take working with corporate people their mentality. I was good at my job just not into it.

Music is in the blood and I love to travel.

WHAT WOULD YOU CHANGE IF YOU HAD TO GO BACK TO THE PAST KNOWING EVERYTHING YOU KNOW TODAY. I would change who I worked with and made better decisions with my contacts.

LET’S TALK ABOUT TWO OTHER IMPORTANT CITIES FOR ELECTRONIC MUSIC, BERLIN AND IBIZA. FROM WHAT YOU KNOW, WHAT IS THE BEST AND WORST OF EACH OF THEM? Well, both are great cities for music and completely different weather wise and music wise both places have loads of tourist. Berlin is more so Techno and darker clubs are open all year around and creative people have a bit more control.

Ibiza is more so House and a more commercially driven it’s a vacation getaway.

On that night, lots of people make bonfires along the bay, eat, drink, jump, dance and make wishes around them. They also enjoy eating macarrons de Sant Joan, a typical Ibizan sweet.

NO MIRARSE AL ESPEJO. Si no lo habíamos dicho, la celebración de San Juan, tiene su origen en tradiciones paganas. En la isla de Mallorca una de las supersticiones más escuchadas para esta noche, es la de no mirarse al espejo. Dice la tradición que tras el baño de Sant Joan no hay que mirarse al espejo. En caso contrario el hechizo pagano de buena salud se rompe.

“Don’t look at yourself in the mirror.”

If we did not mention it before, the celebration of San Juan has its roots in pagan traditions. On the island of Mallorca, one of the most widely practised superstitions is that of not looking at oneself in the mirror.

Tradition has it that, after bathing on Sant Joan, you should not look at yourself in the mirror. If you fail to do that, the pagan spell of good health is broken.

Coca de San Juan is one of the typical sweets consumed that day/night in Barcelona. In addition, it is one of those places where you can best see how people burn everything that is old in order to make way for what is new i.e. leave behind things that you wish to leave in the past and forget. This practise of burning things takes place at the bonfires that are found all over the beaches; one of the most popular traditions of this night.

O “CAIXERS” Ciutadella, es el sitio “must” de la isla en esta noche que además coincide con su patrón y esto lo convierte en una noche aún más especial.

Lo más espectacular de estas fiestas patronales es el Caragol del Born, cuando los más de un centenar de jinetes (caixers) elegantemente engalanados hacen la entrada en la regia Plaça des Born pasando entre una expectante multitud. Los caballos se alzan sobre sus patas traseras como símbolo de poderío y nobleza.

Ciutadella is the island’s ‘must-visit’ place on this night. What is more, it coincides with its patron saint and this turns it into an even more special night.

The most spectacular thing about these patron saint festivities is the Caragol del Born, in which more than elegantly dressed up 100 riders (caixers) make their entrance in the stately Plaça des Born, passing among an expectant crowd. The horses rise up on their hind feet as a symbol of power and nobility.

“Water for everyone.” The town of Lanjarón in Granada is very well known thanks to the brand of bottled water that bears the village’s name. On the night of San Juan, a race—or we could also call it a battle— takes place in which people throw pots of water at everyone else.

EL NÚMERO 9 En Galicia, el numero 9, va de la mano con la noche de San Juan, hagas lo que hagas, hazlo 9 veces. Lo más repetido en esta noche, es saltar las olas 9 veces de espaldas al mar. La tradición rumorea que este es un ritual de fertilidad, aunque cada uno lo lleva a lo que desea.

DESEOS BAJO LA ALMOHADA La noche de San Juan es una de las noches donde más deseos se piden. En el País Vasco existe la tradición de poner bajo la almohada una rama de hiedra y un papel con un deseo escrito. Antes de dormir enciende una vela y al día siguiente quema el papel y entierra todos los elementos.

“Wishes beneath the pillow.” The night of San Juan is one of the nights when most wishes are made.

In the Basque Country, there is a tradition in which people place a sprig of ivy and a piece of paper on which they have written a wish under their pillow. Before going to sleep, a candle is lit and, the next day, the piece of paper and everything else is burned.

In Galicia, the number 9 goes hand in hand with the night of San Juan: whatever you do, do it nine times. The thing that is repeated most on this night is jumping into the waves nine times with your back to the sea. It is rumoured that this is a fertility rite, although each person makes of it what they will.

3 PATATAS DEBAJO DE LA CAMA Antes de irte a dormir tira debajo de tu cama tres “papas”: una pelada, otra sin pelar y una más que no esté pelada del todo. A la mañana siguiente saca una de ellas sin mirar: si sale la pelada, asuntos económicos, si sale la medio pelada, te espera un año de altibajos y si te toca la de piel completa, es tu día y te espera un año de suerte.

“Face washing.” This tradition is found almost everywhere where San Juan is celebrated, but, in places like Madrid, where there are no beaches and where there is less of a tradition to celebrate, it is customary to wash one’s face at around midnight in order to clean away everything bad and make way for the new so that everything is much better, of course.

“Three potatoes beneath the bed.”

Before going to sleep, leave three potatoes under your bed: one peeled, another unpeeled and the last one that is not completely peeled.

Next morning, without looking, pick one of them up: if you pick up the peeled one, it refers to money issues; if you pick the half-peeled one, you can expect a year of ups and downs; and, if you pick the unpeeled one, you have struck lucky and a year of good luck awaits you.

Al más puro estilo de las Fallas de Valencia, o de la fiesta de Los Judas de otros lugares en el domingo de resurrección de Semana Santa, en Cádiz es habitual, la quema de muñecos de trapo, para simbolizar, como en otros lugares, la quema del pasado y augurar la llegada de lo bueno.

Y como no podía ser de otra manera en Cádiz, donde todos los nombres se acortan o son diminutivos, esta tradición tiene el nombre de: Fiesta de los ‘Juanillos’.

“Burning rag dolls.” In exactly the same way as happens at las Fallas in Valencia, or at the festivity of Los Judas in other places on Resurrection Sunday during Easter Week, it is customary in Cadiz to burn rag dolls. As in other places, it symbolises burning off the past and auguring the arrival of what is good. What is more, as you would expect in Cadiz, where everyone’s name is abbreviated and the use of diminutives is widespread, this tradition is called: Fiesta de los ‘Juanillos’.

This podcast represents my style of playing a primetime club set. Just this musical area between techno and tech house. It is a live recording at the famous Wilde Renate Club in Berlin.

3 Essential Tracks of this 2018?

1. Will Clarke & Eli Brown – Our Love [Truesoul] A beat that is reduced to the essentials. Not one element is too much which is typical for Will Clarke. I played it in almost every set since I got it.

2. Fabrice Lig - Dark Commodore [Systematic] This track is built around one quirky synth line which evolves from the beginning to the end. I love it.

3. Jesse Perez, DJ Mind-X - Never Talk To Aliens [DFTD] A very oldschool sounddesign. This track that reminds me of the early 2000s where everybody was on ecstasy.

Goosebumps.

Your wish before the end of the year? Not musically but in general. Everybody should calm down a bit.

Our problems aren’t that big if you just step back and look at it.

TEST_ First place where you played? I think it was at Club Monza in Frankfurt.

An old house club I used to go myself in my early days. Pretty cool if you stand in the dj booth yourself after going there as a fan for a long time.

Best club ever? Sisyphos, Berlin.

Your best session was on?

Around 2008 in Berlin, the first open air of the season in march. It was an illegal party in the middle of the city at the river. There was just a big soundsystem and roughly 1500 people. We partied there all day and the cops didn’t even show up. Today there are luxury apartments.

The best Dj you’ve ever seen? Laurent Garnier at Stammheim, Kassel.

If you were not dj, what would you be? Webdesigner.

Your favorite place in Ibiza? DC10 Your specialty in the kitchen? Homemade ravioli with spinach and riccotta in sage butter.

What equipment is missing in your studio? More elements for my modular rack. It is an addiction.

A very expensive addiction.

A track to define Ibiza? An early Ibiza memory me is Sven Väth playing Umek – Gatex. Goosebumps again.

Your wish for before the end of the year? It was an Open Air in East Berlin (Wuhlheide) in summer 2009.

Your best session was on?

Definitely Feel Festival 2016 (Germany). We played the closing set at Ex!t floor which was an honor for us. The whole situation was overwhelming and unreachable ever since.

Your favorite place in Ibiza? We don´t have a specific place in mind.

What we love about Ibiza is the special atmosphere, beautiful beaches and beautiful people.

Your specialty in the kitchen?

We both adore hearty cuisine. One of our favourites is roasted minced beef with mashed potatoes, red cabbage and gravy.

What equipment is missing in your studio?

Maybe a Doepfer or Pittsburgh modular system.

But never say never, we hope to find this in our study at some point in the future.

ABOUT YOUR PODCAST_ What do we find in your podcast for our radioshow?

A selection of tracks that reflect my mood in this momento, considering that it’s spring time. The leaves are groing back to the tres, nature revives and so do we after the long winter period, and some of my vinyl gems.

Your wish for before the end of the year? To have a bew EP or mini álbum ready.

TEST_ First place where you played? It’s a bit hard to remember, I started dj-ing in ’98. But I guess my first time really playing as a paid gig was at HQ in Melkweg Amsterdam.

Best club ever? So many nice clubs and events!

Not one in particular but if I must choose, Club Mazzo in Amsterdam was my livingroom, together with Steve Rachmad, Cellie and Carlijn we hosted a Saturday called ‘Off the Record” and with Steffi I hosted a Thursday called ‘Explicit Sounds”. It was litterally our playground and I look back at that time with warm feelings.

Your best session was on? What kind of question is this. I consider myself as a dj / producer/ person that is constantly in development and growing so there is no such thing as my ‘best session’ I aim for every next session to be the best, working hard to improve myself.

The best Dj you’ve ever seen? To many to mention.

The person that influences and inspires me the most right now is Nils Frahm.

If you were not dj, what things. Like I am doing students, coaching people... in life and in music.

would you be? So many now... Teaching music Sharing my experience I’m a peoples person.

Your favorite place in Ibiza? I’ve never been to Ibiza...

Your specialty in the kitchen? I’m embarrased to say so but my husband cooks (and I clean) But I’m really good in baking Dutch pancakes.

What equipment is missing in your study? A good microphone, proper isolation so I could turn up the volume, the latest Pioneer mixer…I can keep on going but actually there is always more to wish for and I’m quite content with what I have and try to work with it.

Given my origins, of course Naples. It was in a club where was used to plan after parties; I think around 1990 more or less.

Best club ever? I love undeground clubs: less lights and a surrounding sound system. I think that the best venue is the one where you feel most at home, for me playing at the Macarena Club in Barcelona is like playing in my studio with my friends.

Of course I like also open spaces and open air parties which give me always the right mood, mostly in the day time.

Your best session was on? I’d like to be able to answer to you the next month, after having played at Sisyphos in Berlin, but surely at DC10 in Ibiza has been the session where I felt more vibes and fun so far.

Your favorite place in Ibiza? For sure the kiosko of “Tete”, under the Xamena rocks. I think is a place where you can still breathe the authentic air of Ibiza.

Actually, I hope it will keep going the way it is, forever.

The best Dj you’ve ever seen?

Maybe I haven’t seen it yet!

I like imperfections and authenticity. Maybe, we need to go a bit back in time to have more imperfections and swing from djs.

Your specialty in the kitchen? I love cooking as I love music and, as I mentioned, I come from Naples (IT) so… If we are talking about pasta, we can have fun.

If you were not dj, what would you be? Well, I would have loved to be in the kitchen; maybe to have a small restaurant on my own in the balearic’s area.

What equipment is missing in your studio? Well, my opinion about it is that there’s always something missing in the studio! Sometimes you discover machines which feed your “musical appetite” but

often, once you end up to own them, you just discover that you could have done the same way without it. I strongly believe that the important thing is the final result, no matters which machines or plug ins you used to reach it. What really matters is the ideas in your head and to make it sound great!

A track to define Ibiza? My first time in Ibiza was around 1992 / 1993 ! Immediately a strong bond was established between us… the vibes were very strong and distinctive, I remember that the soundtrack of the year was “Deep Forest - Sweet Lullaby” so… that track is for me Ibiza!

TEST_ First place where you played? It was at a club called “Treibstoff” which is german for fuel. It was the local club in my suburban hometown “Beeskow”, where I grew up. I probably was around 14 or 15 years old and nervous as hell. I think it turned out okay. To be honest, I don’t remember much of that night.

Best club ever? I don’t think that there is such a thing. I had bad nights in places I really like, and awesome nights at club’s I usually avoid going to. It really depends on you, who you’re with, and what you make out of it.

Your best session was on? Acid, no just kidding. I really can’t answer that, probably due to my unwillingness to rank music related things. I definitely played some sets which will stay in my memory forever, but they are very unique and it’s hard to compare these to each other.

The best Dj you’ve ever seen? Well, that’s pretty similar to the best club thing. I saw Dj’s I really like mess up their sets badly and vise versa. I also think that music is not a game that someone can win, and therefore it doesn’t make much sense to me to rank artists or tracks. To be fair, I also do the occasional beatport chart, but we all know, that this more of a promo tool than an actual ranking of music.

If you were not dj, what would you be? I probably would have studied psychology and have done something with that.

Your favorite place in Ibiza? The ocean. I know that’s not a place which exclusively exists in Ibiza, but I really like to hang out at beaches. I’ve only been to the island two times so far, so I’m not totally familiar with what it has to offer yet - aside from friends’ stories of course but I like to make my own experiences - there’s still a lot to discover for me.

Your specialty in the kitchen? Well, since I’m a terrible cook, it would be a success for me to make the food not poisonous.

What equipment is missing in your study?

Oh, don’t get me started on this. If I had the chance and money, there would be a million things. Starting from an actual Redd console or so, to a Jupiter 8 and so on. But actually I’m pretty happy with what I use now - for now.

Having my gentle beast, my Crumar ds2 for bass and weird sounds. A Korg Delta for, well it only can do one thing really good: crunchy pads. And my old tape delay. That’s the three things I use the most at the moment, besides the actual most valued player in my studio, my field recorder.

A track to define Ibiza? For me that would be “Chicane - Offshore”.

DISTURBIOS DE STONEWALL1969 La redada policial que tuvo lugar en la madrugada del 28 de junio de 1969, en el pub de ambiente Stonewall Inn, ubicado en el barrio neoyorquino de Greenwich Village, supusieron el comienzo de una serie de manifestaciones en contra de la persecución policial y social.

Un año después, el 28 de junio de 1970, tuvieron lugar las primeras marchas del orgullo gay en las ciudades de Nueva York y Los Ángeles, conmemorando el aniversario de los disturbios.

The Stonewall Riots (New York, United States).

The police raid that took place in the early hours of June 28, 1969, on the Stonewall Inn, a gay bar located in the New York neighbourhood of Greenwich Village, led to the start of a series of manifestations against police and social persecution.

One year later, on June 28, 1970, the first gay pride marches were held in the cities of New York and Los Angeles, commemorating the anniversary of the riots.

1977: On June 26, in Barcelona, the first LGBT Pride demonstration was held in Spain while the Law on Dangerousness and Social Rehabilitation was still on the books. During Franco’s dictatorship, the Law on Dangerousness and Social Rehabilitation imprisoned anyone who was discovered attempting to establish contact with a homosexual or found in a venue frequented by gays. Around 4,000 people gathered on La Rambla under the banner: We are not dangerous!

Climate change is not a future threat or one that affects islands far away in the middle of the ocean. It is happening here and now to the extent that Spain is the most vulnerable country to climate change in the European Union and its impacts are already quantifiable.

Well then, we are going to explain to you some of its aspects that we have noted in recent years.

Aumento de la temperatura media.

La consecuencia más palpable son las olas de calor como las que se han registrado en 2011, 2015 y 2017, los años más calurosos registrados hasta ahora en la historia de nuestro país, según la Agencia Estatal de Meteorología. Desde 1975, las olas de calor han ido en aumento en España.

Deshielo En España, casi el 90% de la extensión de los glaciares ha desaparecido en apenas un siglo y más del 80% de los glaciares pirenaicos se han perdido.

Según el Instituto Pirenaico de Ecología (CSIC), el glaciar de Monte Perdido retrocede un metro al año y otros como la Maladeta o Aneto se encuentran también en estado terminal. El Atlas del Cambio Climático del Ministerio de Medio Ambiente registra que el último glaciar de Sierra Nevada desapareció completamente en 1995; y de los 34 glaciares que había en España en 1982 se han reducido a 18. Ese mismo año, la superficie de hielo en el Pirineo español ocupaba 600 hectáreas, de las que en 2010 sólo quedaban 210.

En algunos lugares como la costa atlántica y cantábrica el mar ha llegado a subir entre 3 y 6 milímetros al año a lo largo del año pasado, según el Gobierno del Principado de Asturias.

It was my dear friend Karotte! I am actually not 100% into playing back to back sets. But with Karotte I really enjoy playing back to back and it always worked fantastically.

ERES EL PRIMER ARTISTA UCRANIANO QUE ENTREVISTAMOS EN FIESTA & BULLSHIT, ASÍ QUE ES OBLIGATORIO QUE COMENCEMOS HABLANDO DE TU PAÍS. ¿CUÁLES SON LOS PRIMEROS RECUERDOS, PRIMERAS COSAS QUE TE VIENEN A LA MENTE? ¡Estoy muy contento de darme cuenta de que soy el primer artista ucraniano, gracias! Claro, Ucrania es un país enorme y un país que amo mucho, es un país con un clima muy interesante, especialmente en comparación con Barcelona, la ​​ ciudad en la que ya llevo los últimos 18 meses viviendo. Justo el otro día, traté de recordar el primer evento del club al que asistí, creo que tenía 14 años en ese momento. Un amigo mío conocía a un promotor en una especie de fiesta de Hip-Hop donde bailabamos break dance, desde aquel momento empezó mi vida en los clubes. Recuerdo que mis amigos y yo nos tomamos una botella de cerveza cada uno antes de pasar dentro (risas). Sentía que los clubes eran mi estilo de vida, por así decirlo y así es como empezó todo.

¿Y QUÉ PASA CON LA MÚSICA ELECTRÓNICA? ¿CÓMO FUE TU PRIMERA EXPERIENCIA? Bueno, eso depende de a lo que llames música electrónica... Mira, como dije antes, cuando entré por primera vez en un club, me gustaba más la cultura del Hip-Hop y el Electro Funk. Eso también es música electrónica, solo que los ritmos estaban rotos. Era el tipo de música que quería producir y tocar hasta que cumplí 16 años y un amigo me presentó a la música house.

EN TU BIOGRAFÍA, DICES QUE TU PUNTO DE INFLEXIÓN FUE EN 2007, CUANDO ACTUASTE POR PRIMERA VEZ EN EL FESTIVAL UCRANIANO GLOBAL GATHERING. ¿CÓMO TE SENTISTE CUANDO TE LLAMARON PARA ACTUAR ALLÍ? ¿QUÉ RECUERDAS DE ESE DÍA?

¡Por supuesto, ese día fue un hito para mí! Nunca lo olvidaré... Seis meses antes, gané un concurso de Mixing organizado por la misma compañía que también estuvo detrás del evento, y me eligieron como un representante joven y de bajo perfil de su ciudad. Ellos me dieron esa oportunidad, así que fue realmente genial. Casi la mitad del set que hice allí consistía en mis propias pistas. A la mañana siguiente, cuando desperté, ya me había hecho popular.

Just the other day, I tried to remember the first event of the club I attended. I think I was 14 at the time. A friend of mine knew a promoter, and it was kind of a hip party. I also did break dance. I felt like clubs were my kind of thing and that’s how it all started.

What about electronic music? How was your first contact?

Well, that depends on what you call electronic music... Look, as I said before, when I first joined a club, I liked Hip-Hop culture better and I also did break dance and I really liked electro funk. That’s also electronic music, literally. It’s just that the rhythms were broken. It was the kind of music I wanted to produce and play until I was about 16, when a friend introduced me to house music.

I’m very happy to realize that I’m the first Ukrainian artist, thank you! Of course, Ukraine is a huge country and a country that I love very much, it’s a country with a very interesting climate, especially compared to Barcelona, the city I’ve been living in for the last 18 months. We have very hot summers, really clear and different autumns, winters with a lot of snow and short springs. Also, in Ukraine, girls are very beautiful.

The national culture is also unique, and our cuisine, which I miss a lot, is really delicious. We have huge cities like Kiev, Kharkov, Leopolis, Odessa, Dnipró and more. You are always welcome to visit my country!

Who would you say is the most representative artist of your country?

In fact, a wide variety of artists represent Ukraine on today’s world music scene. We have Nastia, an ARTBAT duo, Marika Rossa, all Ukrainian techno artists.

In your biography, you say that your turning point was in 2007, when you performed for the first time at the Ukrainian Global Gathering festival. How did you feel when you were called to perform there and what do you remember about that day?

Of course, that day was a milestone for me. I’ll never forget it. Six months earlier, I won a mixing contest organized by the same company that was also behind the event and I was chosen as a young, low-profile representative of their city. They gave me that opportunity, so it was really great. Almost half of my set I made there consisted of my own tracks. The next morning, when I woke up, I had become popular. I am very grateful to Virus Music, the company that gave me that opportunity and believed in me.

Performing at my first festival, the first festival in Ukraine, definitely opened a lot of doors for me.

Y DESPUÉS DE ESTE FESTIVAL... ¿QUÉ PASÓ? ¿QUÉ CAMBIOS NOTASTE EN TU CARRERA? Cambiaron muchas cosas despues de ese festival. Un par de meses después, me mudé a Kiev y me incluyeron en la lista de djs de esta empresa tan importante. Después de eso, mi carrera se disparó, hablando en términos de Ucrania y el espacio postsoviético. Good question because I think my most successful tracks are the ones that take the least time to make. One of them, which I wrote fast and worked pretty well, was Thunderbolts. It was released in Off Recordings and so far people have heard it more than 400,000 times on Spotify. I think it only took me two or three hours.

Do you have plans to do a live? How would you like it to be?

I’ve been thinking about doing a live but I think, if you call something “live”, you shouldn’t fool your audience.

Then it must be a real live performance. This isn’t about some tracks mixed in Ableton. So far I don’t see the opportunity to do a live set myself. I think, considering how I would like it to happen, I would need help.

SOMOS DE IBIZA Y SABEMOS QUE EL VERANO PASADO ESTUVISTE AQUÍ. ¿CÓMO FUE LA EXPERIENCIA? ¿FUE TU PRIMERA VEZ? Sí, el año pasado fue la primera vez que volé a Ibiza y me encantó. Era un viaje privado, estuvimos allí principalmente para echar un vistazo. Vi muchos clubes grandes allí, y pude aprender sobre esta escena desde otro lado. Puedo decir con seguridad que este año visitaré no solo como turista sino también como invitado.

ESTE VERANO YA TIENES UNA FECHA CONFIRMADA, ¿NOS PUEDES CONTAR MÁS? ¿CUÁNDO Y DÓNDE TE VEREMOS? Exacto, esas serán las fiestas de Tronic hechas en conjunto con Terminal 4, fiestas por el sello de Christian Smith, con un gran cartel. ¡Es un placer formar parte de esa lista! La primera fiesta será la apertura de la temporada, se llevará a cabo el 22 de mayo y anticipo el evento con muchísimas ganas.

[Eng] Now you live in Barcelona. When did you move here and how was the change?

Yes, I’ve been living in Barcelona for the last 18 months, and during this period, I fell even more in love with the city.

There were some things we had to adapt to, but life here is super in general. My daughter goes to a local school and already has many friends with whom she speaks Spanish. My wife has also found her place here in Barcelona, and this has substantially facilitated my life in the city, my travels to other places and opportunities for interaction with other artists. I love this city.

As a means of communication, let’s talk about Raverspot. What was the reason for creating this channel?

Raversport is an experimental project for me. I would love to expand the network of contacts with other artists, with people working in the music industry, and that’s why the project was created. However, we faced certain problems when I realised that it is quite complicated to adapt my touring programme to the schedules of other artists and people working in the industry.

We’ve done episode 1 and paused the project to see how I can adapt all this to find enough time. Anyway, the project is certainly very promising and interesting in the first place.

You launched it recently, Who will be your next guests?

We are now having conversations with various artists and label directors, but, of course, I would like to widen the circle of contacts to have the opportunity to communicate, not only with people who are often interviewed anyway (I’m talking about artists), but also with people who are somehow left in the shadow of the industry: magazine owners, top music store managers and many, many other people who are directly related to the music industry while keeping a low profile.

We’re from Ibiza, and we know you were there last summer. How was the experience? Was it your first time? When was your first visit to Ibiza?

Yes, last year was the first time I went to Ibiza and I loved it.

It was a private trip: we were there mainly to take a look. I saw a lot of big clubs there, and I was able to learn about this scene from somewhere else. I can safely say that this year I will visit not only as a tourist but also as a guest.

This summer, you have a confirmed date, can you tell us more? When and where will we see you?

Yes, those will be the Tronic parties made in conjunction with Terminal 4, parties by Christian Smith’s label, with a big poster.

Of course, it’s a pleasure to be part of that list. The first party, the opening of the season, will take place on May 22nd, and I look forward to it.

Who would you like to interview? Who is that person you dream of having at Raverspot ?

There are a lot of people like that. Probably the person I’d most like to interview is Richard Branson, the man who created the Virgin label. It was this label that launched Around the World by Daft Punk as well as a lot of works by other brilliant musicians.

Es un hombre realmente despreocupado, astuto y de buenos modales. Siempre es divertido discutir con él las últimas tendencias en la industria de los clubes, y todas las características nuevas que podríamos usar en nuestro negocio. Me enfoco mucho en mi marketing, tal y como él lo hace, y cada vez que nos reunimos intercambiamos algunos pequeños secretos, nuevas oportunidades y perspectivas. ¡Tengo muchas ganas de volver a verle en mayo!

NO QUEREMOS TERMINAR ESTA ENTREVISTA SIN HABLAR DE CODEX. ¿CÓMO LE VA EL SELLO? Y EN LA INDUSTRIA DE LOS SELLOS EN GENERAL, ¿CÓMO LA VES? Muchas gracias por tocar el tema de Codex. Por fin el sello ha ganado un buen impulso y estoy realmente contento de verlo. El último lanzamiento que hicimos con Giovanni Carozza apareció en las listas de techno, y fue tocado por la mayoría de los mejores djs, como Sam Paganini, Charlotte de Witte, que lo tocó en Time Warp, y Pan Pot, que también lo tocó en Time Warp. En primer lugar, esto sucedió debido a Spotify porque este servicio permite tener acceso directo al público. Esto ha cambiado en muchos sentidos mi actitud hacia la industria de la grabación y el lanzamiento. Veo que muchas nuevas perspectivas se han abierto para mí.

TEST ¿El primer lugar donde tocaste? Freedom Square, Járkov, Ucrania, agosto de 2005. ¿El mejor club?

Fabrik en Madrid, probablemente. ¿Tu mejor set? Global Gathering, 2007. Esa fue una actuación histórica para mí, eso es seguro.

POR CIERTO, ERES UNO DE LOS ARTISTAS QUE ESTÁ DE GIRA CASI TODOS LOS FINES DE SEMANA. ¿CUÁL FUE LA CIUDAD QUE MÁS TE SORPRENDIÓ EL AÑO PASADO? ¿Y QUÉ CIUDADES PLANEAS VISITAR ESTE VERANO? Yo viajo mucho, es cierto.

Pero no veo mucho de las ciudades que visito, lo que también es cierto.

Lo que veo más son los aeropuertos, clubes y hoteles. Entre los últimos viajes, me encantó Bilbao, la ciudad es tan limpia y el Museo Guggenheim fue realmente impresionante en cuanto a arquitectura.

En cuanto a mis próximos viajes, tengo muchos programados por Europa.

También tengo planeado visitar Corea del Sur, otro viaje interesante.

En general, habrá muchos lugares en los que ya he estado. Viajaré por España, Portugal, Alemania, Francia, la República Checa y muchos otros países.

I met Christian Smith in Lisbon a few years ago. He’s a really carefree, cunning and well-mannered man. It’s always fun to discuss with him the latest trends in the club industry and all the new features we could use in our business. I focus a lot on my marketing, just as he does, and every time we meet, we exchange some little secrets, new opportunities and perspectives. Now I can’t wait to see him again, in May. We don’t want to end this interview without talking about Codex. How’s the seal going? And the label industry itself, how do you see it?

Thank you very much for touching on Codex. The seal has finally gained a good momentum, and I’m really happy to see that. The last release we did with Giovanni Carozza appeared on the techno charts, and was played by most of the best DJs, like Sam Paganini, Charlotte de Witte who played it on Time Warp, and Pan Pot, who also played it on Time Warp.

First of all, this happened because of Spotify because this service allows direct access to the public. This has changed in many ways my attitude towards the recording and release industry. I see that many new perspectives have opened up for me.

By the way, you’re one of the artists touring almost every weekend. Which city surprised you the most last year? And what cities do you plan to visit this summer?

I travel a lot, it’s true. But I don’t see much of the cities I visit, which is also true. What I see most are airports, clubs and hotels. Among the last trips, I loved Bilbao. The city is so clean, and that Guggenheim Museum was really impressive in terms of architecture. As for my next trips, I have many scheduled. Of course, this will be Europe. I plan to visit South Korea - another interesting trip. Overall, there will be many places I have already been. I will travel through Spain, Portugal, Germany, France, the Czech Republic and many other countries.

La Ruta de la Sal llegó este año a su 32 edición convirtiéndose nuevamente la cita más importante para los regatistas nacionales.

En Mayo de 1846, a causa del bloqueo impuesto a Barcelona por los ejércitos carlistas durante «LA REVOLTA DELS MARINERS», se produjo una escasez de sal que puso en peligro a la ciudad condal.

Un conocido hombre de negocios barcelonés tuvo la original idea de convocar a los más afamados navegantes del momento y presentarles un desafío: pagaría los servicios de transportar sal de las Salinas Pitiüses a El Garraf (Barcelona) pero en función del orden de llegada.

Siguiendo esta tradición, desde 1989, se celebró la primera edición deportiva de La Ruta de Sal desde el puerto barcelonés de Port Ginesta hasta Las Pitiüses. A día de hoy se ha convertido en la regata de altura con la mayor participación que se celebra en el Mediterráneo y lo más importante es que se ha conseguido mantener el encanto del primer día. No es una regata fácil. Las travesías son largas y la fecha en que se realiza es una época del año meteorológicamente complicada.

Esto le da el encanto a la aventura y el aliciente de que el hecho de clasificarse es ya de por sí una victoria.

Este año, la ceremonia fue presentada en nuestro hotel OD BARCELONA dónde más de 1200 regatistas y más de 200 embarcaciones partieron rumbo a Ibiza. Tras una singladura muy exigente, en la que predominaron vientos de levante de hasta 25 nudos, y áreas de marejada, que obligaron a una navegación muy táctica y precisa, se proclamó ganador de la clasificación general de la Versión Denia de La Sal, el DK 46 ‘DKtegoria’ de Seppo Sjoroos, la segunda plaza en la clasificación el Swan 45 ’Brujo’ de Alberto de Castro del RCN de Valencia y la tercera plaza para el J92 S ‘Estropada-Cafe del Mar’ de Toni Tur del Club Nautic de Sant Antoni.

Keith bautizo su guitarra como “Micawber” Esta reedición incluye 2 CDs y 2 Vinilos, además del remasterizado álbum ‘Talk Is Cheap’, también incluye 6 pistas adicionales e inéditas, cuatro de las cuales incluyen a la pianista Johnnie Johnson. “Big Town Playboy” de Eddie Taylor, “Blues Jam”, “Slim” y la cinética versión de Jimmy Reed de “My Babe”.

In 1988, Keith Richards released his first solo album, “Talk Is Cheap”. It is considered a master class in eleven tracks, up there with the best of Rock And Roll.

30 years later, a new edition of the album has been released that includes several formats among which is the Super Deluxe Box Set in a limited edition.

These boxes are clearly pieces of art. They are real wooden boxes built by hand and aged by Fender, using the same materials as Keith’s 1952/53 Fender Telecaster Vintage. Keith christened his guitar “Micawber”.

This 2CD and 2Vinyls reissue, in addition to the remastered album ‘Talk Is Cheap’, also includes six additional unreleased tracks, four of which include pianist Johnnie Johnson. Eddie Taylor’s “Big Town Playboy”, “Blues Jam”, “Slim” and Jimmy Reed’s kinetic version of “My Babe”.

Bob Gruen es uno de los más conocidos y respetados fotógrafos de grupos de la historia del Rock and Roll. Desde Muddy Waters a los Rolling Stones; Elvis a Madonna; Bob Dylan a Bob Marley; John Lennon a Johnny Rotten, ha capturado la escena musical durante más de cuarenta años en fotografías que han ganado reconocimiento mundial y que ya forman parte de nuestro archivo histórico musical.

Bob Gruen comenzó a contar historias con imágenes en el momento en que su madre le compró su primera cámara de fotos aún siendo un niño. Pronto se convirtió en el fotógrafo oficial de su familia y así aprendió a capturar los momentos más hermosos e interesantes sin entrometerse en la acción.

Bob Gruen is one of the best-known and respected group photographers in the history of rock and roll. From Muddy Waters to the current Stones; Elvis to Madonna; Bob Dylan to Bob Marley; John Lennon to Johnny Rotten, he has captured the music scene for more than 40 years in photographs that have gained worldwide recognition and that already form part of our musical historical archive.

Bob Gruen began to tell stories with pictures the moment that his mother bought him his first camera while he was still a child. He soon became his family’s official photographer, thus learning to capture the most beautiful, interesting moments without getting involved in the action.

After a childhood with different cameras and John Lennon’s move to New York in 1971, Gruen became the personal photographer and friend of both him and his wife,Yoko, immortalising—through his photos—both his work life and his private moments.

In 1989, he recorded the epic journey to Russia of the Moscow Peace Festival with Ozzy Osbourne, Motley Crue and Bon Jovi. (LAUGHS), I’M OBVIOUSLY JUST JOKING, WHEN I TALK ABOUT R$N I USED TO SAY THAT WE HELPED EACH OTHER. WE ARE A FAMILY. Ciquita has been originally released on my digital label “Silencio” and then re-released for launching R$N Records.

This “re-issue” helped me for setting me in the Dance panorama, especially in UK and helped the label with a good first release as well. Ciquita is the mix of my background of acid house with the latin, in this case spanish, touch and it didn’t take so long for do it, like a couple of weeks. Usually find a label and press the record takes moooore time than write music. I’m very happy being part of the crew since i found beautiful people with same intentions: spread dance music from Planet Earth all around the globe!

I don’t know how my next 3 years will be, but I perfectly know what I did in the past 3 and in the present. Working hard, almost everyday in the studio. No SM shortcut, just good (IMHO) music.

Listening to new music, listening to old music, using the same 3/4 tools until I can control them in a very good way and always try to don’t repeat what I did, even if the feedback was good.

Now I’m working on new music and maybe something bigger like a long playing project but i have no rush at all.

About my influences I like the approach to the music of a bunch of producers like DJ Koze, Maurice Fulton, Matthew Herbert, Axel Boman or Fango, naming the first producers that came up in my mind.

WHAT WAS GOING THROUGH YOUR HEAD AT THAT MOMENT? IS YOUR DAY TO DAY SO DIZZY IN THE STUDIO AS TO FOLLOW THIS RHYTHM? WHAT DO YOU THINK YOUR NEXT 3 YEARS WILL BE LIKE?

CAN YOU TELL OUR READERS WHAT MACHINES YOU WORK WITH IN YOUR STUDIO? A BRIEF SUMMARY OF YOUR WORK AT THE TIME OF ELABORATING A TRACK. I have a Roland Tb-303, Roland SH-01, Korg Poly800, an Arpopone and a Korg MS2000. I use Ableton Live. My intention, for now, is not follow too much softwares rules and styles cliches. Ableton is a true friend that help me to develope my ideas, not something that work for me.

HOW IS YOUR RESIDENTBE OF MONDO DISKO. CAN YOU TELL US SOMETHING ABOUT IT? I’m one of the resident of Mondo Disko since 18 months more or less and I’m very proud be part of the team lead by Gerardo Niva. I always say that for me it’s like a gym.

The art of warming up a dance floor is the cornerstone of a DJ experience and career and facing every time with different artists and styles helps me to grow up and enrich my taste as DJ. And despite the amazing sound system the crowd at Mondo is one of the best around.

I’ll play this August in Ibiza at Circoloco so I’ll definitely pass by la Isla, even because I always try to spend a couple of days every year. Despite being the place to be for thousand of european party goers Ibiza is a special place whit very unique vibes, last year i decided to celebrate my 40th birthday playing at Pikes with all my friends and was the perfect way for closing a decade. I have 2 EPs in the pipeline, one probably before the summer and another before the end of the year i guess, let’s see and cross everything!

¿QUÉ TE INSPIRÓ A SER FOTÓGRAFO?

Cuando empecé a estudiar fotografía no me planteé ser fotógrafo de eventos aunque siempre me había gustado la música electrónica. Con el tiempo empecé a introducirme en este sector, trabajando en salas y pubs de mi ciudad y eventos relacionados con la música. A medida que iba progresando en mi trabajo mis objetivos han ido creciendo, aspirando a trabajar en los mejores festivales y clubs. Desde hace 4 años soy fotógrafo de Ushuaïa Ibiza, uno de los mejores clubs del mundo.

Por el graffiti. Poca gente conoce esta faceta mía, pero antes de empezar con la fotografía me dedicaba a pasar los días pintando. Era algo que realmente me llenaba, incluso más que la fotografía. Aunque tenga esta afición un poca abandonada, si os interesa ver algo más podéis verlo en mi Instagram @guillegs_

¿QUÉ ODIAS DE LA FOTOGRAFÍA? “Uff” este tema da para mucho... Una de las cosas que no tolero es el afán de competir de muchos fotógrafos.

A pesar de que uno siempre quiera demostrar que su trabajo es el mejor, no debemos pisarnos ni mostrarnos con aires de superioridad. Debemos respetarnos los unos a los otros y ser lo máximo legales posibles.

¿LA MEJOR FOTO QUE VISTE NUNCA ES DE? Creo que aún no he visto una foto que diga... ¡Ésta es la foto!

¿EL MEJOR MOMENTO PARA UNA FOTO? Desde mi punto de vista, no hay un momento exacto para una foto. Mi metodología de trabajo suele ser: analizar el local o lugar donde se hace el evento, entender el juego de luces, como se mueve el artista y en qué lugar me podría situar para conseguir una foto diferente al resto. Pienso que la práctica y la experiencia juegan un papel fundamental para encontrar “el momento idóneo”.

¿EL MEJOR LUGAR PARA UNA FOTO? ¿LA BANDA SONORA PARA TU FOTO PERFECTA?

Más que la música, lo que hace que la foto sea perfecta es lo que transmite el artista. No importa el género musical sino la entrega y la capacidad del artista encima del escenario para conectar con el público.

No tendría ningún sitio preferido para hacer fotos.

¿EL LUGAR QUE QUIERES VISITAR PARA HACER FOTOS?

Ultra Miami, Awakenings, Burning Man, etc. Son unas de mis metas actualmente.

¿A QUIÉN TE GUSTARÍA FOTOGRAFIAR?

Estoy especializado en música electrónica y pocos Dj’s me quedan por fotografiar.

Pero siguiendo dentro del ámbito musical, y aunque he hecho fotos a muchos Dj’s y cantantes, creo que Drake sería ese alguien a quien me encantaría fotografiar.

¿TU MEJOR FOTO FUE A? A Avicii en su último show (verano 2016) en Ushuaïa Ibiza.

Cuando le hice esa foto sabía que sería única. Seguramente muchos fotógrafos han sentido ese momento en el que disparas con tu cámara y sin ver la foto dices: ¡La tengo! Además, al cabo de unos meses vi que se usó como portada en el documental de la vida de Avicii de Netflix. Más tarde supe que esta foto tendría mucho más valor debido a que nunca más podría repetirla.

HI MAX, THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR TIME! IT IS A PLEASURE FOR US TO TALK A LITTLE ABOUT YOUR CREATIVE PROCESS AND YOUR APPROACH TO TECHNOLOGY. WE HAD ACCESS TO SOME IMAGES OF YOUR STUDIO, YOU ARE NOT ONE OF THOSE ARTISTS THAT NEEDS TO HAVE AN EXPENSIVE MUSEUM OF ANALOG SYNTHESIZERS TO MAKE ELECTRONICS OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY, GIVE US TIPS FOR YOUNG CREATIVES WHO MAY FEEL OVERWHELMED ABOUT VERY EXPENSIVE GEAR IN SOME STUDIOS OF MANY ARTISTS AND AMATEUR PEOPLE.

Yeah! I didn’t have the money to buy synths for the first few years of making music, I focused instead on trying to get good monitor speakers and trying to get the acoustics ok. I’ve recently been testing out the Sonarworks reference 4 system for automatically adjusting the EQ profile to give a flatter response in your non-flat responding room. I’m not sure it’s perfect, but it definitely helps. For example I have some 50Hz standing waves at the moment which can muddy up my bass mixes, and that system EQ’s those peaks out precisely to give a more balanced listen, which has proven helpful for my mixes.

I do think it’s important to learn your room by ear as well though, the more checks and balances in place the better.

As for how to get started without expensive gear, it’s amazing what can be done digitally. Rob Clouth is possibly my favourite electronic music producer in the world and he does everything digitally with very creative approaches, building his own tools and techniques that create a sound like no one else. If you’re using the same analogue gear as everyone else you’ll sound a little like them too.

The digital world is much larger in terms of the number of tools and possibilities, especially when you get worlds like MaxMSP and Reaktor etc, so you can find something amazing and new if you’re willing to put in the time. That’s the key for me, it’s not so much about what you use, but how much time and effort you put in to find a recipe that you really believe in.

I think a lot of the role of analogue gear isn’t so much in the oscillators or filters being analogue, but in the fact that you get hands on control away from the screen.

So that’s another thing which I’d recommend for anyone wanting to develop things without expensive synths – to try hardware interfaces, which can be quite cheap, but can give you more of a hands-on instrument-style interaction with your soft-synths, so sound design and live playing can become more of a fun and involved experience.

And of course, there’s some great relatively cheap hardware synths out there too, like the Korg Volca’s for example.

APART FROM THE EXPANSION OF THE DIY WORLD, VIDEO-MODULAR AND EURORACK OR THE UNEXPECTED RETURN OF THE VINTAGE, IN TERMS OF MASS CONSUMPTION THE GROWING SUPPLY OF ANALOG CLONES FROM BRANDS SUCH AS BEHRINGER AND EVEN YAMAHA, PROPOSING TO BRING BACK A NEW VERSION OF THE FAMOUS CS 80 SEEMS TO HAVE STAGNATED US IN A TECHNOLOGICAL MARKET LOOKING TO THE PAST MORE THAN A FUTURIST VIEW, WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT IT?

We’ve been conditioned to enjoy the sound of these classic synths because of the music we grew up listening to, so I think it’s a natural process, these recreations. I’ve very heavily reliant on my own Prophets and Moogs which are modern remakes of classics, but for me personally it’s still very important to complement that with a lot of modern digital techniques, convolution reverbs, granular processing, spectral effects, semi-generative systems, these things that weren’t around in the early synth days, to create something new which still has that beautiful inaccurate richness of those early synths. It’s all those “mistakes” which were made in early synthesis which we pander after now that we can do everything precisely with computers, when we find the humanity has been a little lost somewhere. But there’s many other ways of bringing that freer error-ridden sound in with computational techniques too, LFO’s assigned to many parameters to give them a little wobble around whatever values you set is an easy example. So for me, the best way forward is to take the best of the old and the best of the new and bring it all together.

DSP TECHNOLOGY OR HIGH QUALITY ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS SEEMS TO BE LIVING ITS OWN CREATIVE CRISIS, WHERE DO YOU THINK THE NEAR FUTURE GOES? THE ERA OF PURE PROGRAMMING? Software is where the most possibilities exist for sure. No doubt we’ll have a boom of new machine learning driven instruments and techniques very soon.

I’m looking forward to where that can go, the musician in collaboration with more intelligent systems than we’ve had access to before.

PROPHET 08, PROPHET 6, DX 7, JUNO 60, SUB 37, MINITAUR, PEDALS, IPAD, TAPE ECHO ...

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR LAST ADDITION TO THE WORK-STATION? WHAT IS THE INSTRUMENT THAT YOU ALWAYS WANTED TO HAVE AND YOU NEVER HAD? I always wanted a polyphonic Moog, and the Memory Moog had always been out of reach, so I jumped straight in with one of the first Moog One’s to arrive in the UK and have been putting it to use on my new album project for launch at the Barbican in London on the 28th of September. It’s a beast of a machine, I’m still learning it and yet to get an intuitive feel for it, but yeah, it’s something I had been looking for and it’s already proving useful, particularly for strange sound design. The Prophet 6 is still my favourite at the moment though, it’s such a musically designed synth, almost everything it does sounds great, and it has just the right balance of simplicity and complexity for me, encouraging free jams and rich modulation options without slowing down the work process too much, zero onscreen fiddling.

WE WOULD LIKE TO KNOW YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH TOOLS SUCH AS SUBPAC Bass is so hard to get right, any extra tool to give another view on it is useful, and the sub pac gives a great low cost way of getting that club experience of massive lows right down to 20Hz or so – it physically rumbles the lows right into your back, which has a pleasant massage sort of experience about it too. My old sub pac isn’t particularly well balanced across the frequency spectrum though, so some frequencies appear louder than others, but I’ve ordered the new seat version which is just released, which hopefully will be more balanced.

YOUR ARRANGEMENTS ARE RICH IN DETAILS, IS IT IMPORTANT FOR YOU TO HAVE A CLASSICAL FORMATION IN TERMS OF COMPOSITION? DO YOU SPEND MANY HOURS IN FRONT OF THE COMPUTER WITH DETAILS? I don’t follow any particular rules in terms of arrangements if that’s what you mean, other than imagining myself in the venue listening to the track and doing what I’d want to hear in terms of the development. I do love detailing though yes, and I spend a looooong time messing around with tiny sounds.

That’s the final phase of creating each piece of music, after the initial basic melodic ideas phase, then the percussion and mixing, then the detailing phase which can go on as long as the rest put together. It’s quite a different sort of mental process, sometimes it feels like working on a factory line rather than the phase of musical creation of the chords and melodies which is very feeling and conscious.

The detailing is where I sit back and enjoy the atmosphere and let my subconscious mess around with tiny sounds for days.

YOU HAVE ALWAYS TAKEN GOOD CARE OF THE AESTHETIC AND VISUAL CONTENT OF YOUR WORK, WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE REFERENCES IN THIS FIELD? ARE YOU INTERESTED ABOUT VIDEO SYNTHESIS? Koyaanisquatsi was one of the first major influences on me in terms of my audio-visual approach, and also heavily influenced my choice to create the new Glassforms project with Bruce Brubaker where we’re exploring a electronic and piano reworking of Philip Glass pieces (it will be at Sonar Barcelona this year in case of interest).

I always loved the early Warp records audio-visual work too, the classic CunninghamAphex collabs, and Cunningham’s Bjork video being possibly my all time favourite example of a music video, but also Plaid, Autechre

and Squarepusher’s early music video projects, these guys were on it way ahead of time.

I was always into that stuff, and then I went into science research before going full time on music, and at some point I realised that all my science work was very visually oriented and lent itself amazingly well to abstract story telling along with electronic music, so I jumped down that rabbit hole and have never come out. Nature is the richest source of art, so I don’t expect I’ll ever need a different core source.

YOUR WORK EXPANDS IN VERY DIFFERENT TERRITORIES, FROM CLUB MUSIC OR EVEN AMBIENT TO CLASSICAL OR EXPERIMENTAL WORKS, DO YOU CHANGE YOUR APPROACHES OR MUSIC SET UP FOR EACH PROJECT? Yes, every different live show – 4D Sound, surround sound, Live visual, live piano and electronics, has their own custom system suited to the demands of live performance with each. Sometimes I’m working with every tiny sound independently as with the surround sound shows where I want each element to have its own life in the space, and sometimes I’m more focused on layering and structuring whole

pieces of music with different visual experiences. It’s just a question of whatever I need to create the best possible audience experience, and allow me the flexibility to interact with the people there and optimise my set. I don’t use pre-arranged set lists for that reason, apart from when I’m doing a classical concert with a live musician who can’t perform without one. For my solo shows I try to keep it as flexible as possible, as sometimes I’m playing pleasant sit down shows at 8pm, and sometimes sweaty 6am mayhem.

I love that variation though, that keeps the whole thing interesting for me, that’s why I like to release a lot of different styles, to give me a good range of musical options in the studio as well as in terms of the performances. The same goes for my label, Mesh, where we’re releasing a mixture of ambient, experimental and techno from people like Rob Clouth and Nicolas Bougaieff, broken melodica from Brecon, and huge intricate club work with Alex Banks new album coming 6 June!

QUEREMOS EMPEZAR ESTA ENTREVISTA, HABLANDO DE THE RITUAL. ¿QUÉ SIGNIFICA PARA VOSOTROS? Y LO MÁS IMPORTANTE, ¿QUÉ ENCONTRARAN NUESTROS LECTORES CUANDO VENGAN ESTE VERANO? ANANÉ: The Ritual es música para nosotros. Es conectar con la gente a través de la música puesto que la música no tiene lenguaje. Nuestra principal misión con The Ritual es expresar lo que nosotros sentimos por la música y que también nuestros invitados hagan lo mismo, que transmitan lo que les salga del corazón.

LOUIE: Una de las cosas especiales es que nuestros sets no estarán ensayados, no prepararemos nada. Somos dos y todo saldrá de forma espontánea. Es un sentimiento que aparecerá pinchando juntos donde se creará un momento que será mágico. The Ritual es diferente porque lo que buscamos es que nuestros invitados vengan a pinchar lo que aman. A expresarse lo que ellos sienten . No será como un show en un lugar grande con 10.000 personas. Será todo mucho más acogedor.

Queremos que los artistas actúen imaginando que están en una fiesta en su casa. ¿CREES QUE PODRÍAS HACERLO DE LA MISMA FORMA SIN ANANÉ? ¿QUE SIGNIFICA ELLA PARA TI MUSICALMENTE? LOUIE: Nunca sería de la misma forma! Sería imposible!

Nosotros pinchamos juntos. Una de las cosas especiales, es que la música de uno en comparación con la del otro es diferente y no prepararemos nada. Todo saldrá de forma espontánea. Es lo bonito conectar el uno con el otro a la vez que llamamos a los invitados para que hagan lo mismo.

A que hable su corazón sin encasillamientos. No hay que ceñirse a ningún género pasará por aquí desde Joseph Capiratti hasta Moodymann.

¿PENSÁIS QUE LA ESCENA DE LA ISLA ESTÁ SUFRIENDO POR CULPA DE PROMOTORES QUE NO AMAN LA MÚSICA Y NO HACEN LAS POR Y PARA ELLA, SINO QUE SIMPLEMENTE LO HACEN POR DINERO? ANANÉ & LOUIE: Bueno hay de todo. Nosotros solamente miramos a la música. La música sale de nuestro corazón y nosotros tratamos de expresarla. No miramos los demás solo seguimos el que creemos que es nuestro camino.

LOUIE: Siempre alquilaba una casa para pasar el verano.

Ahora hemos alquilado la casa para estar todo el año. La isla es un paraíso. Me encanta hacer amigos aquí porque la gente es fantástica. Hay mucha magia, Ibiza no son solo 10 clubs.

¿CÓMO VEIS IBIZA ACTUALMENTE? ANANÉ & LOUIE: Ahora mismo creo que está empezando a ir por buen camino. Los tiempos cambian, no puede ser igual que en los años 90. Tenemos que ver que la música cambia, de hecho tiene que cambiar y la isla también. Aquí en la isla tienes muchos lugares para comer, para estar tranquilo y por supuesto también para bailar. Todo es una evolución, la propia vida es una evolución. Nosotros tratamos de evolucionar pero sin parar de transmitir.

Tratamos de ir en un buen camino y representando lo que sale de nuestro corazón con la esperanza de conseguir congregar a gente que ama la música tanto como nosotros y estamos realmente contentos de formar parte de esa evolución que es el presente.

¿QUÉ ES LO QUE MENOS TE GUSTA DEL VERANO AQUÍ?

ANANE: El tráfico que hay ahora no lo había antes. Nos tenemos que concienciar que este lugar es maravilloso. Para este verano me planteo firmemente alquilar una bicicleta y utilizarla.

LOUIE VEGA: Está siendo cada vez más popular y cada vez más gente está viniendo. Esto tiene su parte negativa.

“Solo te pido una cosa, no te dediques a traficar con drogas”.

Esa fue la frase que me espetó un familiar cuando le comenté que Susi y yo íbamos a buscarnos la vida a Ibiza. No se anduvo con paños calientes, fue al grano, pudo haberme dicho “ten cuidado” o “no te metas en líos”, pero no quiso dejar lugar a las interpretaciones.

Cuando le escuché tartamudeé en la respuesta, no porque hubiera adivinado mis intenciones, sino porque no me imaginaba cómo un familiar cercano podía llegar a pensar que mi aspiración laboral en Ibiza consistía en convertirme en camello. ¿Qué razones le había dado yo? Un chaval normal, deportista, con estudios, quizás algo loco y con muchos pájaros en la cabeza, pero nada que pudiera indicar un futuro en el mundo del narcotráfico.

Entonces si ni mi perfil, ni en mi pasado avalaban aquella advertencia... ¿Qué factor había sido el causante de ese razonamiento?

Sin duda alguna, el destino de mi viaje: Ibiza.

“La isla de la fiesta, la isla de la locura, la isla del desenfreno, la isla de las drogas, la isla de los raros, de los inadaptados, la isla del exceso, la isla sin ley, la isla de la depravación, la isla de la sordidez, la isla de los colgados, la isla de los pastilleros, la isla de los cocainómanos...”, podría seguir con los calificativos todo el artículo y aún así no llegaría ni a una mínima parte de lo que la gente de fuera de Ibiza pensaba de ella a principios del 2000.

Debéis tener en cuenta, que la figura pública que representaba el concepto Ibiza en nuestro país era Pocholo, no las modelos de Victoria Secret, ni los futbolistas de la Champions League tatuados que pueblan hoy en día la isla. Millones de tele espectadores en España relacionaban Ibiza con la imagen de Pocholo, por lo tanto sus conclusiones no podrían ser otras que aquel pedazo de tierra en medio del mediterráneo o bien era Sodoma, o bien era Gomorra.

Todo esto que se lleva ahora de las “fake news” y la manipulación mediática, ya existía aquellos años. Los medios nacionales compraron la imagen que transmitía aquel divertido y alocado personaje de Crónicas Marcianas, y con amarillismo y falta de rigurosidad pusieron a todos los que vivían en Ibiza en el mismo saco. Vergonzosos fueron aquellos pseudo reportajes de investigación en los que se ofrecía una versión manipulada basada en los clichés baratos, con los que el yonki del morbo se masturbaba frente a la televisión.

adie hablaba de lo que realmente ocurría en la isla, de la maravillosa excepción que se vivía, del ambiente cosmopolita que se respiraba por las calles, de la fusión de culturas tan intensa en tan pocos metros cuadrados. Y por supuesto nadie hablaba de la revolución musical que se estaba fraguando y que terminaría convirtiéndose en un fenómeno global.

Os voy a poner un ejemplo de la manipulación periodística que viví en primera persona en aquellos años...

Trabajaba en el “departamento” de prensa de Amnesia Ibiza, por aquel entonces una de nuestras funciones principales era impedir que los periodistas grabaran dentro de los clubs, imágenes comprometedoras. Así que cuando alguna cadena de televisión solicitaba meter una cámara en Amnesia, debía andar muy al loro.

Me llegó la petición de un programa nacional, dos periodistas estaban en la isla realizando un reportaje y les gustaría grabar dentro del club. Me informé e intenté asegurarme de sus intenciones, finalmente les permití grabar supervisados por mí.

Les presenté a varios trabajadores del club con los que charlaron, les facilité el acceso a las cabinas para estar cerca de los djs, les surtí de las consumiciones que desearon y trate de explicarles la realidad de la isla con sus luces y sus sombras.

Incluso les mostré cifras que concluían que en cualquier ciudad del mundo donde se mueve la cantidad de gente de fiesta que lo hace en Ibiza, las cifras de muertes, de sobredosis, de intoxicaciones, de delincuencia, son muchísimo mayores.

Me fui para casa orgulloso de mi defensa, de mi clara exposición, les había convencido.

¡Mis cojones treinta y tres! Me la jugaron...

Cuando salieron de Amnesia, como no pudieron conseguir nada, detuvieron su vehículo junto al control de alcoholemia y se dedicaron a filmar el control y a los coches que paraba la guardia civil. Además, con saña y mala leche, lo filmaron desde un ángulo en el que se viera bien claro el cartel de Amnesia.

Esto es lo que buscaban los medios de comunicación en Ibiza, el morbo zafio. Y en aquella noche de verano lo representó como nadie Teresa Perales, que sigue dando lecciones de periodismo desde Comando Actualidad.

Es lo que hay Teresa, tenía esa espinita clavada desde hace más de una década.

Mientras Ibiza daba miedo, qué bien se vivía en la isla, qué bien nos lo pasábamos, qué vida más productiva, estimulante y enriquecedora.

Mientras Ibiza daba miedo, qué educativos resultaban los desayunos en el bar El Cruce los martes a las 12:00 de la mañana tras una fiesta de Cocoon, qué auténticas eran las sonrisas mientras caminabas por la pasarela de Sa Trinxa y qué poéticos eran los atardeceres del Khumaras sin flashes ni sin selfies.

Nos fuimos de la lengua.

Todos.

Si hubiéramos preservado aquel secreto, si hubiéramos alimentado la leyenda negra con más morbo, con más vísceras... Pero la realidad era evidente en nuestra sonrisa cuando volvíamos de hacer temporada a las ciudades que nos vieron crecer.

Empezamos a invitar a amigos, a familiares y en primera persona comprobaron que no era para tanto.

Mi padre durmió en nuestra casita de campo en Sant Joan, se despertó con el canto del gallo, se bañó en los embarcaderos de Portinax, merendó un bocadillo de sobrasada en Santa Gertrudis, caminó por Las Dalias flipando en colores y se perdió conscientemente por las callejuelas de Dalt Vila. Mirad lo peligroso que era, que la madre de Susi, una señora sexagenaria de Palencia, disfrutó de una tónica en uno de los mejores reservados de Amnesia mientras atronaba la música de Eddie Halliwell.

Como me enojaba, cuánto tiempo gasté en defender una realidad diferente y qué gilipollas fui al hacerlo...

Nuestra incontinencia verbal y el nacimiento de las redes sociales acabaron con la imagen perversa de la isla. Ibiza pasó de ser peligrosa a ser cool, de ser ignorada a convertirse en un salvapantallas global, el muro del miedo fue derribado y comenzaron a aparecer por la isla una nueva fauna, que en vez de experimentar su esencia, simplemente querían retratarla con sus smartphones.

Si pudiera volver atrás, si pudiera robar un Delorian con condensador de fluzo, regresaría a los comienzos del año 2000 con un objetivo meramente egoísta: echar toda la mierda posible sobre Ibiza para aislarla, y por ende... Ser feliz.

MARAVILLOSOS AÑOS FLASH

RICHI RISCO Sin lugar a dudas uno de los festivales más importantes de nuestro país. La Semana Santa no se entendía sin viajar hasta Aranda de Duero, para gozar del Techno en mayúsculas de este festival.

Ya hace unos años que no disfrutamos de el y hemos decidido hacerle este particular homenaje en nuestra sección de “Aquellos Maravillosos Años”, con uno de los artistas que tuvo el placer de pinchar en casi todas sus ediciones, Richi Risco. ¿Cuándo escuchas por primera vez hablar de Techno-Flash? ¿Cuál fue tu primer contacto con el festival?

La primera vez, seguramente fue algún eco de los eventos que hacían en la mítica macro-discoteca «Las Vegas» de Melgar de Fernamental.

Por aquel entonces, la música Techno y Hard-Techno, era la única protagonista en aquella zona, y el ritmo de mi juventud fue más House que otra cosa... Es más, yo aparecí por primera vez en un cartel de Techno-Flash, en la segunda edición del festival en Aranda de Duero.

La primera vez que había una zona alternativa al Techno de la sala principal.

Llega el día en que formas parte del cartel, ¿Qué recuerdas? ¿Qué año y qué edición fue?

La primera vez, fue en Semana Santa del año 2009, y lo recuerdo con especial ilusión ya que era mi primera fecha de ese calibre fuera de Asturias. Por aquel entonces, sí que tenía cierta popularidad en mi zona, y por eso la idea de invitarme. Pero fuera de mi provincia, había pinchado en contadas ocasiones sin demasiada trascendencia. Siempre digo, que a partir de aquel primer Techno-Flash, empezó una etapa en mi vida que me llevaría a trabajar muchísimo, en Aranda de Duero, Valladolid, Palencia, Burgos, Medina Del Campo, etc.

Las siguientes ediciones 2010 y 2011, fueron un calco de la primera. Una noche de festival, una main room enorme con Techno por bandera, y una pequeña zona club,

El año 2014 fue clave en la desaparición del festival. Otra vez un montón de carpas, dos días sin una zona de acampada, ni nada similar... aquello causó muchos

En 2012 y 2013, todo cambió enormemente, no recuerdo exactamente, pero además de la main room, habían instalado otras tres carpas de tamaño considerable y otra pequeña zona para djs locales.

En estos años, la meteorología se cebaría con el festival, y una tremenda tromba de agua, anegaría zonas enteras, de baile y de transito, dejando en los asistentes un amargo sabor, que a mi entender, penalizaría a la marca de cara a las siguientes ediciones.

problemas tanto para el público como para la población de Aranda De Duero. Tanto fue así, que ya no se volvería a repetir en Aranda, un evento que llevaba ya 6 años de tradición en la localidad.

En 2015 se volvió a intentar en una población cercana, Tordesillas, y se volvió a intentar a lo grande pero el público no respondió...

Tristemente, aquel fue el último evento de la marca Techno-Flash hasta la fecha. ¿Y el mejor set que has visto, Ese artista que te dejo sin palabras?

Los dos que tuve el placer de vivir de cerca del gran Sven Väth, me encantaron.

HOW WAS THE EXPERIENCE IN OUR CONTEST? DID YOU EXPECT THAT RESULT? It was very nice to play and be part of it. I didn’t expect the result because i didn’t know the skills of the rest of the artists. After my set i just knew i did a good job.

I was 21 years old, went to Katerblau for the first time and could not believe where i was.

The scene is great and i think if you listen to my sets at night you will always find a little of Berlin sound.

FINALIST JÓVENES TALENTOS 2018

Mexico and the caribbean gave more organic sounds and drums to my music.. Day parties, beach and probably the opposite of what i learned in Berlin.

Argentina showed me the passion of his crowd.

It’s one of the best places in the world to play. Argentinians love to rave and i think my style fits to their progressive taste. There is also lot of local talent.

WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO ACHIEVE BY 2020?

My goal is to improve every day at the studio.

Improve my sound. Sign music at good labels and continue playing with international artists like this last 2 years. Of course a residency would be incredible, but at the end everything is a consequence of doing better music productions every year.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE PRODUCER? Shai T, Koletzki, Dahu, Rosenfeld, Matan Caspi, Mantzur, Innellea, Dizharmonia, Kora, Sebastien leger, Coeus, Elfenberg… i could never choose one. It’s a very long list and it changes fast, every year.

THE BEST DJ YOU’VE EVER SEEN? The Best Dj set i have ever seen was from the Berlin brothers, Mira&Chris Schwarzwälder.

But in terms of consistency, Hernan Cattaneo.

He never fails mixing. It’s very easy when you just change the song at the end, the interesting thing is to do long mixes. He makes it happen.

YOUR FAVORITE PLACE IN IBIZA? Es canaret. Some years ago it was a great place to disconnect from the crazy summer in Ibiza.

A TRACK TO DEFINE IBIZA? Roy Rosenfeld - Rumbala. This track makes me think in day parties and summer.

A TRACK TO DEFINE BARCELONA? Damon Jee - Drifter . In my opinion Barcelona has not defined his sound yet. But from my music selection, this track could sound like Barcelona.
