Ketosteril is generally known as Compound α­Ketoacid Tablets and it is used for preventing and treating renal damages due to protein metabolism disorder in chronic kidney disease (CKD) and the effects are better with low­protein diets. Ketosteril can supply amino acids and at the same time reduce urea production as well as protein­related metabolic wastes and toxins so as to lower high creatinine and BUN, alleviate uremic state and improve nutritional state. It can help increase protein synthesis, reduce protein decomposition and prevent protein leakage from the kidney so as to increase plasma albumin.
