JOB OPPORTUNITY: Creative Project Evaluator for In Our Words Odd Arts are recruiting for a Creative Project Evaluator for our 3 year project, In Our Words. In Our Words is a social justice arts project, working with local youth organisations. Are you experienced at monitoring and evaluating projects with ideas for creative ways to report on or summarise your findings, such as a film, scrapbook or similar? Are you aware of the wider arts/culture sectors and/or aware of social justice issues? Do you have experience of racism, the criminal justice system, and/or other forms of structural marginalisation? If so, you may be the right person for our project.
In Our Words is funded by The National Lottery Community Fund and run by 3 project partners: Odd Arts, 84YOUTH and Hideaway Youth Project. In Our Words: AIMS - Increase community cohesion and a sense of belonging - Increase critical thinking, community leadership and social action - Raise awareness of inequalities - Reduce risk of discrimination, polarisation and hate In Our Words: OBJECTIVES - Engage the community through outreach and partnership work - Explore through theatre based creative workshops the issues, themes and experiences that most matter and impact our community - Develop community led high quality stories through performances/exhibitions/showcases/workshops that address the issues and experience the community has raised - Share the creative stories with the wider community including decision makers and local leaders (4 showcases/platforms per year; 4 cohorts per year) - Train participants from the project as professional creative facilitators to upskill and creative opportunities - Employ local artists and activists to work alongside the projects; including paid opportunities for those participants who have completed the project training element. As our project evaluator, you would receive up to £8,000 over the whole project (£3,000 per annum over 2.75 years) to budget for your own pay and any expenses you might need to do your evaluation. The project running period is from August 2021-July 2024. You would work closely with Liv, the project manager, and set your own hours of work. Applications must include the following: ● A CV ● A cover letter ● A proposal for how you would evaluate the project and the creative output you would produce to reflect your findings You can also submit your application via video or voice recording. All proposals must have the following: ● An evaluation framework ● Creative integration of data collection ● Participant engagement ● Interpretation/analysis, reporting and review (including contextualisation) ● Final report in a creative, accessible format, e.g., video, song, animation, narrative, or otherwise
