Dear Guest,
The Legacy and The Future Gala is proudly presented by the Alpha Omega Foundation US, an independent arm of the Alpha Omega International Dental Society. Our mission is to raise awareness and provide support for philanthropic endeavors that advance oral health, expand access to care, and promote dental and medical research and education. Over the years, we have built dental schools and clinics in Israel and the United States, provided equipment and services to institutions worldwide, and championed continuing education and retraining initiatives.
We are also committed to addressing urgent needs, particularly for individuals requiring special care due to physical or mental disabilities. Among our most cherished programs is the provision of free dental care to Holocaust Survivors, a service generously offered by Alpha Omegans across the U.S. and Canada. This program, sustained over the past 10–15 years, has been made possible through the steadfast support of the Henry Schein Corporation and the Claire Friedlander Foundation. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Stanley Bergman, CEO of Henry Schein, and Mr. Peter Klein, director of the Claire Friedlander Foundation, both of whom are here tonight, for their unwavering commitment.
Tonight, as we honor Dr. Allen Finkelstein’s remarkable contributions, we are thrilled to announce the establishment of an Endowment in his name. This initiative represents a transformative step forward in advancing our mission by empowering future leaders in oral health and fostering innovation, care, and education.
The impact of this gala extends far beyond tonight. Your generous support helps create lasting opportunities and addresses critical needs in the communities we serve. Alan and I have known each other for over 50 years. He was my student and I was a brand new instructor at Temple University School of Dentistry. We were in the oral surgery clinic together and he was taking a tooth out; and I said he was going to break it off if he did it his way. He went ahead, broke it off and walked over to me with the sheepiest grin and said “can you help me”…the rest is history.

I met Allen in the early 80's when he ran a very successful Alpha Omega convention in New York which I followed by a successful convention in Palm Springs. We have been close friends ever since. He is a very extraordinary individual.
