Mission

Our Fun Guide is your resource for recreation, parks, open spaces, activities, fitness, special events, and fun with Parks & Recreation. Mark your calendar for upcoming events and activities!

To enhance the quality of life and provide safe and accessible services, programs, and facilities for all.

A Letter from the Director Lincoln City Parks & Recreation (LCP&R) is SO looking forward to the new year of 2024, and the many new developments for our community! Much is happening right now, thanks to you - our community members! The new Friends of Lincoln City Parks & Recreation 501c(3) has formed, which is a group dedicated to providing support and enhancement of services and programs provided by LCP&R. What does this mean for you? It means that new parks, park amenities like playgrounds, recreation programs and more have greater support in occurring on a faster pace! Our community recognizes P&R as a major contributor to mental and physical health of residents and tourists, property values, business economy, and to quality of life in general in LC and the surrounding area. We thank you for this. LCP&R is developing and constructing the 1st new Community Park in Lincoln City in over 20 years! The 6.71-acre park site is located in the Taft District, between SE 50th and 51st Street at the former Taft Elementary School site. This park is stated as the #1 priority of the 2016 LCP&R System Plan and will include many amenities such as an all-inclusive playground, covered sports court, sports fields, outdoor pickleball courts, special event pavilion and lawn, picnic areas, and other gathering areas. The public input process has concluded, with final design completed. Construction of new park is slated to begin in Spring 2024. For more info: www.lincolncity.org/departments/parksrecreation/new-community-park-taft. As we kick off 2024, LCP&R invites you to experience ALL that we have to offer – from our beach accesses, trails, parks, playgrounds, and open spaces to our Community Center, pools, camps, after school program, sports leagues, fitness center and more. For further info, please enjoy this Fun Guide and visit www.lincolncity.org/departments/parks-recreation. Jeanne Sprague, LC Parks & Recreation Director
