In preparation for further Sandcastle repair, LCP&R contracted an assessment of the playground, which found that while this attraction has been very well cared for, this much-loved playground has now served its time well and must be replaced after 32 years of use. With continued drainage and material issues, and needs for improved ADA access, LCP&R is focusing on replacing this playground as a whole with a new one. LCP&R is planning for the new Sandcastle playground construction to occur in 2025.
Lincoln City Parks and Recreation is thrilled to embark upon a multiple year, phased project to bring the first new park in over 20 years to the community! The first phase is expected to be completed in Fall of 2024 starting with new inclusive & accessible playground!
Want to support the new park? Every dollar helps. Donate as little as $5 to get your name on our digital donation wall!

Spyglass Ridge contains 1.75 miles of lightly trafficked loop trail. The outside loop is 1.25 miles plus additional paths to explore. Though sections of the trail can become steep and a bit rugged, they are fairly wide and easy to navigate. Spyglass Ridge had a tree-thinning project for the health of the overall ecosystem. One of the effects is greatly improved visibility, of the vegetation and wildlife
