(April 9, 2021) Would-be Boardwalk DJ David L. Halmon, 30, of Washington, D.C. faced the music of a different sort Monday, and emerged from District Court with a probationbefore-judgment verdict on six counts of disturbing the peace and noise violations.
Halmon pleaded not guilty to all counts, but Judge G. Fletcher Halmon responded by placing Halmon on unsupervised probation for six months.
The case arose out complaints about the volume of the music Halmon was playing on the boards last June.
Police said halmon could often be found on the Boardwalk near First Street with two speakers set up playing loud music and occasionally freestyling with two juveniles in the evening hours.
Police told Halmon on several occasions that he needed to lower the volume of his music to a reasonable level, but Halmon did not comply.
As a result, police obtained noise meter readings from various distances from Halmon’s operation to support the unreasonably loud noise complaints. Police also found that Halmon’s operation also drew large crowds on the Boardwalk and the surrounding areas on First Street.
Police subsequently charged Halmon with 10 counts of disturbing the peace and noise violations, 10 counts of disorderly conduct and two counts of failure to obey a reasonable and lawful order.
“The Town of Ocean City and the Ocean City Police Department, welcome individuals to express themselves and enjoy their time here in Ocean City,” said Ocean City Police Chief Ross Buzzuro. “We do ask that you do so in a manner that does not disturb the peace of others. Thank you to all the citizens and business partners that assisted us in this case.”

The Eastern Shore Easter Keg Hunt is the idea of local business owners, Jamie Lowe and Megan Burak of Pineapple Man Productions.
“We wanted to put on an event that gets people excited about the Eastern Shore and all it has to offer,” Lowe said. “I’ve lived out here for 10 years and found so many great places to explore on the shore. I think those places, businesses and people have something to offer and highlighting them is what we are trying to accomplish.
“Covid had a massive impact on everything, but the great thing about this Easter Keg Hunt is that it is designed to be a socially-distanced event,” Lowe continued. “Grab you friends, hop in your car, and go hunting! Find out what the shore has to offer and start the spring and summer season strong.”
Teams can register for $100 by going to www.easternshorekeghunt.com. Deadline for registration has been extended to the day of the event (April 10).
