Would you be interested in a series of thoughtful conversations about a weighty topic that impacts every aspect of our community? In conversation, the group will examine how education funding in the United States can be more equitably aligned with each child’s academic and social-emotional needs. This experiential four-week course uses guided, groundbased interaction with horses to help participants strengthen communication, confidence, and self-awareness. Horses are highly perceptive animals that respond to human body language, intention, and emotional regulation, making them powerful partners for learning about non-verbal communication, boundaries, and leadership. Through hands-on activities (no riding), students will learn basic horsemanship and safe horse-handling skills while practicing clear communication, emotional regulation, and mindful presence. The skills developed in this course naturally translate to everyday life, supporting healthier relationships, improved interpersonal communication, and greater self-confidence. No prior horse experience is required, and all activities are conducted on the ground with an emphasis on safety, accessibility, and reflection.
