Chadwater Main House is a one-of-a-kind waterside retreat for unforgettable wedding events, corporate functions, and artistic and celebratory gatherings of all kinds. Outside, the Courtyard and Patio are scenic outdoor gathering place with adjacent house access, and the grounds and Black Bayou walking trail complete the experience.

Something Blue Cottage c. 1909
Borrow the charm of this vintage 1909 home nestled in the Garden District. Something Blue Cottage offers an array of experiences that are sure to hit the checklist of something old, new, borrowed and blue! This indoor and outdoor space is the perfect host for a bridal shower, baby shower, a gathering of your bridal party, and your wedding-day makeup and hair preparation. The cottage also has a firstfloor master bedroom below and upstairs bedroom accommodations.

The newest property to join the Empire of the Seed portfolio will be Iris Hall, the latest adaptive-reuse initiative in downtown Lake Charles by Rick and Donna Richard. Iris Hall is the re-imagination of a church chancery into what will become a gathering place for coffee and conversation downstairs, with working offices above. Across the street — Iris Street, for which the property has renamed — will be a tree-lined plaza with a walking area and benches.

The House at Chadwater anchors a 66-acre expanse of coastal prairie south of Lake Charles. The house and its lovely pastoral setting commemorate the vision of Chad and Jan Thielen, who originally owned the house and used it as the family residence. The expansion and adaptive reuse of the house make it ideal for accommodating food, entertainment, and specialevent demands of all scales.
Chadwater’s event-center capability is enhanced by the surrounding restoration of Cajun prairie plantings.
