What Is OSF? The Ouachita Student Foundation is a student-led organization founded in 1974 with the mission of “students helping students.” As ambassadors and advocates for the student body, members of OSF strive to meet the needs of their peers through scholarship-raising and service efforts. OSF sponsors various campus events throughout the school year. In the fall, the organization plans Tiger Tunes, which you are experiencing tonight. Each spring, OSF hosts Tiger Traks, a multi-faceted field-day in which students compete in events like egg toss, basketball relay, dodgeball, raft races in Waggoner Pool, Oozeball (mud volleyball) and mud tug-o-war. In addition to these flagship fundraising events, members also call OSF alumni to ask for scholarship gifts and serve concessions at home football games, receiving a portion of the proceeds to give back to their fellow students. Since 1974, OSF has raised more than $1.5 million in scholarship for students. Just by attending tonight, you are joining with OSF’s current members to provide more than $100,000 in scholarships to their fellow students, helping juniors and seniors stay and complete their degrees at Ouachita. National Recognition f o r T i g e r Tu n e s This year, CASE ASAP, the Council for Advancement and Support of Education Affiliated Student Advancement Programs, named Tiger Tunes the 2018 Outstanding Student Advancement Program! Competing against 700 colleges and universities, Tiger Tunes was recognized over schools like the University of Nebraska, UNC Chapel Hill, Iowa State, Boise State, UT Knoxville and Seton Hall for the impact Tiger Tunes makes in the lives of students through scholarship funds raised during the event. OSF was excited to accept the award at the national Conference for Student Advancement in Louisville, Ky., last month. The award will be on display in the JPAC lobby throughout the weekend.
