tโs been 20 years since renowned international Non-Governmental Organization Mercy Corps kick started activities in Georgia. While events have been put in place to commemorate the 20th year anniversary of Mercy Corps in Georgia, the global pandemic truncated the organizationโs plans and this led to several changes in plans and activities, and culminated in the postponement of the anniversary. Mercy Corps has so far implemented more than 20 projects in Georgia with funding received from various donors, and the organization is currently implementing 4 projects with funding received from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC) the French Development Agency (AFD), and the European Neighbourhood Programme for Agriculture and Rural Development (ENPARD). Mercy Corps implements humanitarian and development programs in 45 countries globally, especially in countries where people are mostly in need. Irakli Kasrashvili, the Country Director of the agency in Georgia, shared some information with us at Diplomat Magazine about some specific projects being implemented by Mercy Corps.
