Nowhere For A Ghost To Sleep

Page 1

A sleepy ghost knocks on a window.

‘Will you let me in?

My eyes are tired, my mist is cold. My sheet is worn and rather old.’

4

‘A ghost, a ghost!’ the man replies. ‘I will not let you come inside.’

The little ghost yawns very deep.

But she has nowhere yet to sleep. 5

The little ghost peeks through a doorway.

‘May I use your barn?

I am exhausted, really pooped.

My eyes are full of sleepy goop.’ 6

‘A ghost, a ghost!’ the cow says. ‘Moo!

You cannot come in here. Shoo, shoo.’

The little ghost just hangs her head. She cannot find a comfy bed. 7

The little ghost flies by a rooftop.

‘May I lie down here?

I’ve been up all night, saying “Boo!” I really need a wink or two.’

8

‘A ghost, a ghost!’ the pigeon says. ‘You cannot use my stony ledge.’

The little ghost is so confused.

She only wants to have a snooze. 9

The little ghost calls down a chimney,

‘Can you help me out?

I’m searching for an empty bed.

I’m counting sheep inside my head.’

10

‘I hear a ghost!’ a small voice cries.

‘Quick, block the chimney. Hurry, hide.’

The little ghost is quite upset.

‘I haven’t even said “Boo” yet!’ 11
