EcoBeetle’s main feature is its colour-changing forewings. This dynamic surface is not just pleasing to the eye but also functional, as it responds to ultraviolet (UV) radiation levels. The colours it displays act as a real-time indicator of the sun’s intensity. Green represents low levels of UV radiation, yellow and orange indicate moderate to high levels, pink is very high whereas purple indicates exposure to extreme UV levels.

This allows you to make informed decisions about sun protection. Whether you need to cover up, apply sunscreen or seek shade, EcoBeetle offers a simple yet effective tool for maintaining skin health.

By pressing the middle button once, EcoBeetle’s forewings open to reveal a high-tech monitor that analyzes the air quality index (AQI) of your surroundings. Should the levels be on the higher end, the middle button flashes an orange light.

This signal indicates that it is advised to take precautions, like wearing a face mask when outdoors or taking other measures to safeguard your respiratory health.

By double-clicking the middle button, EcoBeetle’s uncovers its hindwings. When submerged in water, the colour of the wings will change in response to the water quality index (WQI). This index takes into account key indicators like pH, dissolved oxygen levels (DO) and overall pollution markers. A vivid display of colours shows you the water quality in real time, allowing you to assess its suitability for various activities.

Green indicates a neutral value; potable water should generally show colours in this range. Warm tones indicate acidity and bad water quality, while cool tones indicate alcalinity.
