Our Careers Adviser, Helen Shaw, regularly attends Parents' Evenings, providing opportunities for families to ask questions, explore options and gain impartial support with future planning. We value feedback from parents and carers and regularly seek their views through questionnaires, events and direct communication to help us continually improve our provision. Many of our parents and carers are also employees, employers, business owners and professionals with valuable experience and insights. We welcome their involvement in our Careers Programme through sharing expertise, supporting events, providing workplace experiences and helping students better understand the world of work. By working together, we can provide students with meaningful encounters, informed support and greater confidence in planning their future.

Impact Evaluation & Data Statement: We are committed to delivering a Careers Programme that has a meaningful impact on students' aspirations, knowledge, skills and future destinations. We gather feedback from students, parents and carers, employers, education providers and staff to understand what is working well and identify areas for further development. Student voice plays a key role in shaping the programme. We analyse a range of data, including participation in careers activities, careers guidance interviews, destination data and student outcomes, to ensure all students are accessing the opportunities and support they need.

Our Careers Programme is reviewed through a robust quality assurance process. This includes internal leadership reviews, peer reviews across schools, quality assurance from the Trust Strategic Careers Lead, and scrutiny through external inspections and review activities, including Ofsted and Trust led review visits. These processes provide valuable challenge, support and opportunities for sharing best practice. Findings from reviews, feedback and data analysis are used to inform future planning and ensure continuous improvement.

Access to Labour Market Information (LMI) Statement: Students have access to a wide range of careers and labour market information through Morrisby, our online careers platform. Morrisby provides information on career pathways, qualifications, apprenticeships, further and higher education options, employment opportunities and labour market trends. Students are given opportunities to use Morrisby in school and can also access the platform at home using a computer, tablet or mobile phone. Access Morrisby here: https://www.morrisby.com/ Alongside Morrisby, students access local and national labour market information through careers lessons, assemblies, employer encounters, careers fairs and displays around the school. Students are encouraged to explore both current and emerging opportunities, helping them understand how the world of work is changing and the skills employers are likely to value in the future. Careers staff, tutors and visiting employers support students in interpreting labour market information and applying it to their own subject choices, progression plans and future aspirations.

How we meet our Frameworks: Our Careers Programme is aligned with the Gatsby Benchmarks, the national framework for good career guidance, and the Career Development Institute (CDI) Learning Outcomes Framework.

5 Oasis Academy MediaCityUK - Careers Plan 2026

The Gatsby Benchmarks help us provide a structured and progressive careers programme, while the CDI Learning Outcomes ensure students develop the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to successfully manage their future careers. Each element of our programme is mapped against both frameworks to ensure careers learning is progressive, measurable and appropriate to the age and stage of our students. By aligning our programme to these frameworks, we help students develop self awareness, explore opportunities, understand the changing world of work and make informed decisions about their future.
