WellnessDay

Wellness Day was hosted on July 22 at the Helping Young People Elevate (HYPE) Center where all program participants spent the day learning about a variety of self care activities. The girls engaged in sessions ranging from hip hop, affirmations, gratitude, making art, mindfulness, breathwork, and healing - the range of activities allowed girls to explore options that they could takeaway.

CareerEvent

We hosted a career event for the girls on July 15. The afternoon provided girls with skills to jumpstart their professional careers. Workshops included developing resumes, practicing interview skills, receiving professional headshots by 6th on 7th Photography Workshop, and practicing active listening.

SummerOpenHouse

On June 13, we held an open house for community members to meet our new board and staff members before the launch of our summer cycle. Thank you for joining us!

So-YounKimMemorial Scholarship

The So-Youn Kim Memorial scholarship honors the legacy of So-Youn Kim, an AmeriCorps volunteer with Oasis for Girls from 2007-2008. The Scholarship is awarded each spring to an Oasis alum who is a graduating senior pursuing a college degree.

- Eliza Hicks, Program Leader

“I enjoyed seeing the girls transform from wide eyed wonder during their interview process to an enthusiastic joy, fully engaged in their program ' s curriculum I was also moved by seeing them solidify sisterhood in the camaraderie they built amongst their peers along with the immeasurable connections they made with their program leaders and Oasis staff”
